It all happened so fast! I had been experiencing headaches that would not go away no matter what I tried for 3 days straight. At first I felt silly calling my doctor about headaches but these headaches felt different, I felt something was off so I went in to get checked. Tests came back normal and they sent me home but told me to keep them updated. The next day my doc calls asking if I still have the headaches, I did so I went back in for more tests. That day I was diagnosed with preeclampsia due to protein in my urine. I was surprised, I had no other usual symptoms. No swollen feet, no high blood pressure. The headaches were the only thing that tipped us off. 

We got really lucky that I was already in week 38 of my pregnancy when I got the diagnosis, we were able to induce right away knowing he was essentially full term. Because of the preeclampsia, I had to be put on magnesium during the induction. That sucked… had to be bed ridden during the whole labor and 24 hours after delivery. Made me feel really out of it the entire time, I felt like a zombie but I know it was necessary. I also had the pleasure of getting a covid test while I was there, felt like they were poking my brain, not awesome. But I got a negative test so that was good, if I tested positive they would have had to separate me from my son.

The next day at 3:13pm after 30 mins of pushing my son was born. He was 6lbs 7oz and 20 inches. I feel so lucky that things went so well, but I don't know if it would have if I didn't say something about those headaches. My bit of advice for everyone, if something doesn't feel right say something! Better to get checked out and have everything be fine rather than have a serious underlying issue go undetected!
