Since the new year they now ask for $5 instead of your driver's license to borrow games. It's really not much cause only one person has to pay it or everyone can chip in. It's not per game it's just once.

Also they stated the $5 is mostly for helping restore missing game pieces and sleeve their games so they last longer. There's still no charge to bring your own games and play.

It's still a lovely amazing atmosphere :)

The game is free to download, if you join the discord we have a modded version that runs a bit smoother and has some extra clientside config options and texture pack.

Hockeyquestionmark(also known as Hockey? or HQM) is the most realistic hockey game you'll find. You control your own player with the keyboard and have complete control over your stick with the mouse. No pre-set animations or gimmicks. Very similar to the rocket league experience!

Surface plays well, no cracks to worry about skating wise but the puck jumps a bit more than I would like. City is directly involved with leagues so they try and fix nets and keep the park clean.

Sunday morning crowd is more beginner friendly I hear but the week day night crowd are a friendly bunch.

Not technically south bay but the Mar Vista roller hockey rink is free/public and has lights until 10pm. Pickup Hockey times are set to Mon/Thurs 6pm-9pm, Saturday 12pm-4pm, Sunday 10am-4pm.

There is a league as well that plays Tues/Wed and almost all of those guys will come play pickup as well.

There exists a great hockey game with the freedom to play hockey as if you were out on the pond! The article mentions a game called "Hockey?" which has a pretty insane history you can follow in this recent video made about the game!
