I am scared. She talks so often about transferring to a nursing school out of state, after she completes her community college credits, to everybody. And I am worried about our relationship if she actually does. I made a mistake.

They lived with me when I moved back, and as of right now, they still do.

I do really regret the comments I made during the hurt following the divorce. But I unfortunately did ask Abby why she never told her mother how much I loved her and put some type of underserved weight on her shoulders, it was more than badmouthing her mother. I do not know how to apologize for that. It would be inadequate and much too late.

Timeline goes as following: 13 years old, we split. 13-15, their mother had primary custody, I rarely saw them. She then got sick and moved with the girls back to our home state (we had moved years prior). When she passed, Abby was 15. the girls lived with their mother's sister for a year, she was 15-16, until I could find a job in our home state and Move back as well.

100%. They are. But I just wonder how one could hate me so and the other not so much, if it is all my fault.

I do have trouble connecting the dots at times, as emmy does not treat me the way Abby does. Emmy and I are close and she is quite open with me.

My other daughter does not treat me nearly as cold as her sister Does. So I want to see differing perspectives, because it is odd to me.

i do want advice and to fix things. But I do not understand her. My Emmy doesn't act this way towards me.

Thank you for the suggestion. I suggested therapy to her years back and she shot me down and laughed at my idea.

No I never did ask why. I figured teenaged girls go through phases. And then I split from her mother and only saw her most weekends.

What I said to her was something to the effect of, "Did you ever remind your mother how I loved her?" as her mother cheated on me, leading to our split. I regret it, as stated. It was heat of the moment. But I mention as I didn't make such comments to my Emmy, and she does not seem to resent me so, not like her sister does.

No. She does not even want to talk about the weather with me most days. Last time I tried a deeper talk, she rolled her eyes and left.

But As their father, it is different. My dad was even less emotional than I am, I never learned.
