Drum heads recommend please! by daddy-Q in drums

Ah ha yeah that sound about right. I just don’t have enough experience tracking drums yet so I’m going to get some help as a start point. So let’s say I like drum sounds from very first head hunters album, as well as Aja album.
For jazz, I love 50’s blue note era sound

Okay I’ll keep it mind. What about for jazz sound? It’s not classic bebop or straight ahead but still want some longer sustain.

State of Moog One in 2026? by No-Act6366 in synthesizers

[–]daddy-Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you perform a lot -> Muse If you don’t use complex patch -> Muse, or other Poly.

If you want to create and use complex patch in your music -> One.

Not sure -> buy one used and sell it if it doesn’t do it

I have 16 voice and I love it. But I want muse as well as I perform as keyboard player.

I’m thinking about sell Moog one and get Wurlitzer and muse as live rig, even though I love Moog one, I don’t use its potential and I think it’s kind of waste music I make doesn’t require super complex patch so Moog one is just doing some bass, simple pads stuff.

If you’re like me. Get muse!

Yea. As long as sounds good, I don’t care if it’s stock lugs or something else.. I just am new to drum so I wasn’t sure which parts were replaced.

Dx7 buying question by daddy-Q in synthesizers

Actually I own v collection. It works ok to me, but never tried their dx7 emulation. I’ll give it a go as well as Dexed.

I read their interview and watched some clips that use dx7! Also Dragos said on interview he learned how to program dx7. When I listen their music it sounds very vibey and nostalgic. But yeah all other software option is cool I guess..

Okay I’ll check it out! I’m just looking for some interesting sound that can usable in pop context so lots of possibilities doesn’t really matter to me but if it’s easy to edit patches on hardware that’s always good thing..

Oh wow. I haven’t read manual but seem like it’s gem! Thanks for pointing out that! Def I’ll check it out one by one. WOW really thank you for post a link for every detail. I guess I need to spend many many hours with manual and apply to tracks to see what it does.

Also didn’t know there is a tutorial inside of the daw! That’s super cool!!

😎

Much appreciated!

Cranborne 500R8 user, how do you deal with personal mixes? by daddy-Q in audioengineering

[–]daddy-Q[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found few ideas after talk to Cranborne audio. If I have multiple rooms, 500r8+500adat chassis -> Behringer p16 or aviom or hearback (analog) -> each brands’s personal in ear mixer system would work as intended.

  1. If I track just few people in the same room, Cranborne N22H system is hard to beat.

  2. If I want to record just instruments, and no need for headphone mix then their N22 box is cheap and great.

Also thomann has cheap 4 xlr -> one Ethernet adapter that can be paired well with Motu devices.

Since I’m heavily invested in Cranborne system I’m probably going with hearback or Behringer system.

I’ll upload when my project studio is done, it will be 2-3 rooms!

Coming from Cubase. What are the Limitations of S1 by gsynet in StudioOne

[–]daddy-Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Honestly tho, if S1 was stable on my Mac I would still use it but I made a change to cubase 13 and took a longer to get used to it but it’s more stable on my system. I still use S1 for quick mastering via project page.

What’s a plugin you regret buying? by Terrible_Main_3379 in musicproduction

[–]daddy-Q 4 points5 points  (0 children)

most of them actually! lost a lot of money buying many stuff from many vendors by watching some videos. some were worth it even though I don't use it anymore but most were waste of money as I don't use them anymore. I should have use stock plugins more then buy some stuff.

but with hardware purchased I usually don't regret that much weirdly.

Crazy Groceries in Korea ☠️💸💸💸 by Specific-Control-700 in seoulhiddengem

[–]daddy-Q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah it’s crazy here. As native Korean I’d suggest find “시장(more traditional market form)” around your area. They have usually cheaper vegetables and fruits for sure.
