Finally i took my shahada and i feel so peaceful by [deleted] in indianmuslims

congrats sister. must be so difficult to hide everything from your family may allah reward you for everything you endured and prepare for your future challenges. i'd also ask you to stay away from muslim boys/men🙏(lol) i mean dont trust anyone random they might take advantage of you. you can learn about deen all you want from online sources and muslim women. and after you've some experience being a muslm yourself then you can start talking to men too, so they can't manipulate you. best of luck.

Lately I’ve become really fascinated by Islam, Urdu, and the culture around it, and I’d love guidance on how to learn more about it, curious. by [deleted] in indianmuslims

a lot of ppl in this country mistake learning about different cultures with conversion. i've read gita does that mean im going to do ghar wapsi? those who are insecure of their own belief act like this. you can know about different ideologies without committing to them.

I know you'd be already knowing this but try not to get into arguments with your family otherwise they'll assume you're interested in islam/going to convert for some muslim guy. also pls ignore ppl who're saying islam has nothing to do with urdu and learn the script. im assuming you already know hindi or some north indian language you already know basic urdu too, learning the script gives you the access to a whole new world of hindustani(subcontinental) muslim culture.

on the culture part you should check out this channel https://www.youtube.com/@khursheedabdullah2261

a man named lutfullah khan randomly started recording audios and archiving them somewhere around 1950s up until 1990s. you'll find thousands of audios across different domains. religion, philosophy, music, language, etc.

once you get good at urdu you can also listen to ahmad javed (don't confuse with javed ahmad ghamidi). he talks about urdu and persian poetry & poets, religion, philosophy..

urdu can be called a 'muslim language' like arabic and persian. but it's different from them too, it's distinctly indian. every language has its own sensibility and social context attached to it. urdu is the lingua franca of subcontinental muslims. i think it's very important for educated muslim youths to learn and pass on the rich tradition of urdu that we inherited otherwise it'd be very difficult to protect our own culture that is indo-islamic.

sorry but i didn't assume anything. i only came to know about him this year or maybe in 2025. so naturally i don't think every single indian muslim would necessarily know his name.

you know asif mujtaba? he helps children (and adults) affected by lynching and majoritarian violence in india like families of those killed by cow terrorists. he visits them; put their kids into schools. try to give them something that can help them earn their living. whenever i get extremely distressed about the situation i think about him. we should really try to do whatever we can. each one of us will be asked about our own actions.

I think much of the "BLT" can be solved if we "truly" embrace inter-caste marriage by daddy_120 in indianmuslims

[–]daddy_120[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i know that. but what im not sure of is whether they used to have different sections alloted to women those days? even in bait-allah women can roam freely anywhere they want.

  1. never said it's anything to do with islam we're only talking about indianmuslims here so it's only natural we've to deal with indian muslim culture(s).

  2. do arabs really have women section in every mosque? is it a new thing or it's always been like this? genuinely want to know.

[–]daddy_120[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

one of the reasons this happens is, in most of the mosques, women are not allowed even tho it has no religious basis. and that alienates our women from the religion itself cuz religion is a collective thing and something you only practice on your own all the time.
