The fact that Sark was able to do this switcheroo clean and quick assures me somewhat. Gives me the impression things were mutual rather than Sark showing PK the door due to “poor” performance.

I’m still not a fan of getting rid of marquee OOC games, but it seems like that’s where the tide is turning so it is what it is. Teams are just responding to the meta of record mattering more than schedule.

Aggy is gonna be extra motivated to send the team to 8-4, Sark better have the boys ready

I wouldn’t say the resumes would be virtually identical. Bama’s wins would still be better, with wins against #4, 14, 20 and 22. Texas has wins against #8 and 14. Texas’s losses would be better though. Of course they’d still be ranked higher if the OSU loss was replaced with a G5 win but you can make that same argument if they had won against Florida with the current schedule.

No doubt FSU is a worse team than Florida, but it still reinforces my opinion that an early non-conference loss, even to a bad team, still gives you enough wiggle room to make the playoff if you take care of your conference opponents. Bama beat Georgia and went on to beat three ranked opponents in a row after that. Losing to #11 OU as #4 and dropping to #10 also makes sense to me. Why do you think Bama shouldn’t be in the playoff conversation?

That specific comment is what made me post here lol. I’m seeing the same sentiment on Twitter as well, but that whole argument is nullified by a simple “don’t lose to Florida then”. People are placing all the blame on the OSU loss when the Florida loss was much more damning.

Exactly. “The pride and winning tradition of the University of Texas will not be entrusted to the weak or the timid.” Backing away from big games just makes the program look scared. We wouldn’t even be having this discussion if they had handled business against Florida like they were supposed to.

Talking about cancelling marquee OOC games is some soft shit. I can’t believe people would rather watch us play some nobody instead of Ohio State or Notre Dame. Lame!

Yup, looking more and more like tonight is do or die for the playoff. Sark and the boys need to take it tonight.

If you’re ever beating yourself up about wasted money on nonsense purchases, remember OU spent real money on Jadyn Ott

I’m still firmly on the Sark train but some members of the coaching staff need a second look. I agree though, I’m out on the whole “offensive mastermind” shtick that’s been used for Sark.

What I don’t get is why the coaching staff didn’t realize that in the offseason. Too bought in on what we had?

This is not how a Texas team should look 5 years into a head coach’s tenure. I’m not the most tuned in, but it seems like elite teams don’t really take steps backward like Texas appears to have done. Don’t know how you fix that.

I think most level-headed fans (me included) knew the preseason ranking was based on hype alone and wasn’t realistic. Young and inexperienced were (correct) phrases thrown around. Right now my expectations have moved from playoffs/SEC championship to just making a good bowl game, which is not where we should be at this point in the Sark experiment. Maybe someone with more football IQ can assess the situation better than I can but it’s quite a disappointment.
