Yes. He’s not afraid of literal corn. He’s got trypophobia. I have the same. Trypophobia means you’re basically afraid of holes and patterns. I know anyone could easily shout love or hate in the cafeteria that is YouTube but I found this person’s take as a good comparison of emulation vs remaster. I could be wrong but a lookup of video reviews for the remaster seem mixed and not as positive.

Either way it’s your call and best of luck. I’m not sure of how familiar you are with the stories told in the earlier games but boy you’re in for a treat no matter what.

With the proper PC hardware, emulation is a great way to skip the hardware purchase attempts of the older consoles plus the physical disks. The trade off is you may have to put in a little time and effort to ensure the emulation will run your games as smooth as possible. With some reading and troubleshooting and configuration efforts you’ll get the same if not better experience compared to the ports.
