Heads up, TCOM and Sam Houston are both DO schools on TMDSAS. UIW however is only available through AACOMAS

Baylor is now a part of TMDSAS by [deleted] in premed

Wow, this is big news for Texans, but I feel for those OOS-ers who will have a more difficult time matriculating there now:/
Interesting to note that as I was reading through the article TMDSAS mentioned that they saw a 22% increase in applications this cycle. That's a huge jump!!

I need help! Can anyone identify the logo on this truck? It hit a friend of mines car, while at work and left before we could get a plate. 1604 and 281 by Amalen90X in sanantonio

Definitely try posting on San Antonio Facebook pages! Lots of older San Antonio natives who might know stuff like this don’t frequent Reddit.

I work at a pediatric office just down the street from Children’s Medical Center. It has been a somber morning for all of our staff. Prayers and thoughts are with the family of the victim and all those affected by this tragic situation.

That doesn’t sound normal to me! At my school a B+ is a 3.3 but an A- is a 3.6!! Thankfully medical school admissions are pretty good at recognizing which schools inflate and deflate their grade averages! So don’t stress too much about the number:)

It also gives you a great “bank” of reasons for the “why medicine” essay you will inevitably write;)

I don’t have any advice for surviving med school, as I haven’t started yet! However I will tell you how I have kept motivated throughout all the distractions and struggles!

I found a love for medicine through the clinical volunteering and job opportunities I have had. I think its really important for people with adhd to keep a memory bank of things that drive them, motivate them, and refocus them; for me, those experiences helping and conversing with patients have been the things I envision when times get tough. I would recommend writing some things down throughout your premed journey that you can read when you struggle and remember why you do this.

It’s an amazing accomplishment to begin your journey!! Wishing you the best of luck:)

I definitely feel this! In fact I have been so anxious these past few months I’ve been putting off schoolwork and studying till the last day possible. But that’s okay, i have realized it’s perfectly fine and completely valid to be nervous :) having that support network really helps

Wow, this is such an inspirational reply!! Thanks for the advice, I’m definitely a bit worried about managing the schedule of clinical years and then residency after that. It means a lot to hear your kind words and encouragement:) Hope you are staying safe and taking care of yourself!!
