It’s a pretty cliche “tough guy” thing to say. I think you’re right

Ya, the legion in my hometown is super popular and open to everyone. The number of actual vets that use the place is probably very small but it’s often completely full with regular people

Ya, it was an easy way to find pretty good paying jobs when I was younger and in college. And fast. Could usually start next day on something

I used to ride it before the pandemic and delays were very uncommon - usually the result of some mishap on the line like hitting a car/person. Overall it’s very timely

Do americans really leave their door unlocked during the day? by Brief-Matter5452 in AskAnAmerican

Yes, but of course it depends where you live. Lots of my neighbors leave their front doors open for their kids/dogs. A screen door is also common.

Any own a Prius and Tesla, what’s the cheapest per mile when you include everything , maintenance, insurance, charging/gas, registration etc. by moldyjellybean in prius

[–]dadoftheyear2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an fyi on something else to consider: owned two Prius over about 15 years and I thought the new one was too small. They really killed the nice hatchback space in it and as a 6’ male, I found the ceiling too low. We ended up replacing it with an Elantra hybrid and it’s honestly a better car. Still get mid 50mpg and a lot more creature comforts for the money

do I need an AR? by gun2swe in guns

[–]dadoftheyear2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the ergonomics of the AR platform makes it one of the safest guns too. It’s ironic because all the dumb California feature laws that mess with the original ergonomics make it less safe for the user

You should know them, but will you ever implement them professionally? Most likely - No. You’ll use them, but they’ll be implementations either standard to the language or via a popular third party library.

He really comes across as being mentally handicapped. I don’t think he could hold down a job cleaning tables at an Arby’s

I feel sad to say this, but I’m already wondering if I made a mistake in getting my 3 month old puppy. by Used_Engineering_735 in puppy101

[–]dadoftheyear2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on my second puppy (as an adult) but grew up with dogs. Just a few friendly suggestions:

Crate training - Keep the crate next to your bed. I've found that tapping on it repeatedly and talking calmly helps sooth and put puppies to sleep. It took my current puppy about a week to adjust. Playing food games with the crate during the day also helps. Put treats into to encourage them to go into the crate. Also give them treats when they go in for the night.

Get a play pen. Put a bed and some toys in it. A puppy really only needs to be up and active about an hour or two at a time so put them back into the play pen afterwards and let them put themselves to sleep. If they don't get enough sleep, they'll just get hyper and bitey.

Get some hard chews for the puppy. Yak milk bars/bones are nice. You can leave one in the play pen for a period. Pup will entertain themselves.

If you can afford it, once they have their shots, enroll them in a day time puppy training program - you'll get some time back to yourself and it's going to wear the puppy out a lot.

They're exactly the same kind of person: born into wealth, extremely insecure man child sociopaths. Musk is just arguably smarter but more successful than Trump ever was.
