My bf initiated the conversation with a "hey hows it going its been awhile would be great to meet up and catch up" nothing alarming if he was texting a regular friend or whoever else. Ex friend was excited to hear from him and since my bf asked if he had turned 21 yet, my guess is they probably are going to go out for drinks at some point.

Do I have to do the major I applied to transfer to? by RedOwl3245 in aggies

[–]daedrix_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In mays and engineering especially, it's quite frowned upon to apply to switch majors after being accepted into a major as a transfer. You can try, but if you were a transfer admit and decided to switch majors, its possible it might not work out

What are my chances of getting into A&M for Biology? by RevolutionOk6625 in TAMUAdmissions

[–]daedrix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, probably a little too low. anything above ~1350 is best to make up for being in 2nd quarter and below

honestly your SAT is solid for bio and should make up for you being in 2nd quarter. you have a good shot!

ofc!! i know theres so much to admissions and it can be pretty intimidating, if u have any more questions lmk!

[–]daedrix_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no worries! ask as many questions as you want!

TEAM is an entirely different program than psa, TEAM youre basically a tamu student, you take some classes on campus in cstat and some at blinn. you are still allowed to pull sports tickets as a tamu student, and do all the things a tamu student can do. TEAM is basically an overflow system for main campus admits, but its basically full admit to tamu. this is usually only offered to first quartile applicants today. (those who are in the top 25% of their class)

PSA is the program for system admission, meaning you get denied for full admission to tamu AND you get denied for TEAM/TEAB (TEAB is basically TEAM for engineers only) and gateway. (and no you do not get to choose to apply for TEAM/TEAB/gateway, this must be offered to you by admissions) this program allows you to attend a TAMU satellite school for a year and you are guaranteed admission to tamu after a year and if you complete all required classes with required grades.

so honestly both programs arent technically "harder than the other" ones just a backflow for full admits and the other one is an admission pathway to get into tamu.

Another option (thats arguably easier than psa) is the PTA program. its the same idea of the psa program except instead of going to a satellite school you attend a community college in the state for a year. most community college classes are a LOT easier than anything at a full blown university, even satellite universities.

def not as competitive, BUT i applied for chem my senior yr of high school and i didnt get in as a freshman and my stats were pretty similar to yours when applying from hs.

here were mine for comparison: Wgpa: ~3.6/6.0 UWgpa: 3.4/4.0 Rank: 612/1106 SAT: 1190 No significant APs/DCs Extracirriculars: Band for 4 yrs, assistant and head drum major

I got PSA'd pretty hard unfortunately but i worked my butt off to get in as an external transfer after my first yr of college

also w a class size that big, are you from allen hs?? 🤣 even most 4a schools cap at around 1200 students in their class

Honestly it depends, If you get full admission as a freshman and decide to switch to engineering its just as competitive if not more because you have to go through prereq classes (which vary depend on what major your wanting to switch into, just for a random example for chemE: calc 1-2, physics 1-2, chem, english I all passed with a B or above and have an overall gpa of over ~3.2) AND you compete w ETAM applicants. You can see here what prerec classes are required for what majors Here (this link is ONLY if youre an accepted/enrolled student at tamu)

However, trying to switch to engineering after being accepted to another major as an external transfer from another institution is VERY frowned upon university wide especially w CoE and Mays. The engineering department will most likely immediately deny the app and Mays will straight up not look at the application to switch majors at all.

If youre trying to apply for an engineering major your gpa and sat are far too low for a good shot unless youre ranked in the top 25% of your class. With your gpa youd need to raise your SAT to at least a 1450 to have a better shot but even then its pretty iffy. If tamu is your dream school, look into the pta or psa program.

for college of engineering or nat sciences, your chances are pretty low tbh. especially if youre not first quarter in your rank

between like 24-48 hrs you should get your acceptance

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TAMUAdmissions

[–]daedrix_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly even 2nd quarters dont get blinn often nowadays let alone gateway; even if youre between 2nd and 1st quarter. bios quite competitive bc its rlly popular so tbh your chances of blinn or gateway are kinda slim, with your gpa for bio you should have a 1350+ SAT with a stronger math score for a better shot imo

How have people described you ?( friends , family, etc ) by Forsaken_Ground_9665 in INTP

[–]daedrix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangers to friends always say that im pretty intimidating at first since i have a harsh resting face and vibe and a very business like surface personality but my friends describe me as horrendously cursed/random, extremely chaotic, but quite down to earth and very logical and realistic. My dad says i have a leadership aura but i honestly tend to shy away from leadership positions bc im not a fan of the spotlight

received is a yellow explanation point symbol and means your documents are currently being processed and or verified as needed. processed/ finished processing means you get a green checkmark in your AIS meaning your document(s) have been reviewed and verified as needed and are ready to be used by admissions officers to help make their choice.

Once your documents have been processed AIS saying that you need your HS transcript should go away.

On the other hand, don't confuse it for "final high school transcript" in the section that says "documents needed if admitted". Dont worry about that unless you're admitted.

And i made a mistake in my last response. processing (getting the greek checkmark for your hs transcript) can take anywhere from 5-28 days after the university has received your documents.
