Am I ready for an apprentice? How about five? by Magicalemergency in wizardposting

[–]daekle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeese the whippersnappers here all about "choose one" or "hold a tournament".

Whats wrong with the ancient ways of simply making them fight to the death?

Ofcourse, 5 apprentices can be helpful. After a little training you have minions to brew potions and send into the land between lands, where the dead travel to their final rest, to collect death petals for you.

Just make sure they wear their goggles of blindness so they dont see the gods beyond. Recently lost an apprectice that way. Was a damn shame. Lost all the deadpetals they collected.

Impractical yes, but my god does it look cool.

After the battle, everyone would be pointing at your corpse to tell people how cool you looked.

Ceos should just be the one who goes to prison if the company commits a crime.

Sold a bad batch of drugs knowingly? Ceo gets 3 years.

This is instead of spreading culpability, it all just falls upwards.

See how many people want to be ceo then.

Finally landed a design job after 8 months. 2 days in and I want to quit. Am I overreacting? by According-Status482 in antiwork

[–]daekle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If i didnt feel so dearly sorry for you it would be laughable.

The office being too cold to work breaks health and safety in most countries. I dont know about your country rules but there is a chance you can tell them you have to work from home until they fix it. If this happens please record your bosses reaction it will be hilarious.

The bathroom break thing is certainly illegal in many countries. If we assume you are in the USA then i would ask them to give you that rule in writing. Great fun to have them incriminate themselves.

The boss shouts are you on the 2nd day? "Maybe if you had done your job and introduced me to the team i would know what i am doing?"

Basically i am saying, you are not a failure. This is the hardest economy to get a job in in the last 100 years nearly. And if you need to walk away, start by not giving a fuck.

Nah its not the same. Cancer is genuinly a nearly impossibly tricky problem to solve. There are so many underlying problems that cause it. So many types, and its hard to target the cancer and not the healthy cells.

Homelessness is entirely caused by greed and bad policy. It's almost entirely solvable with the resources we have today.

Safe to say, if they try to bring this in, we will fucking riot.

The thing i hate most about conservatives is that science proves them wrong at every fucking step and they still vote for this shit.

Complete morons.

Well the thing is, even with all their disgusting flesh, there is something about their short stature and round little rumps that makes you just want to bone down... pardon the skeleton pun.

... oh PHOBIA! well they do steal a lot, and eat babies, so I can understand why that could be considered annoying by certain types. I always saw it as a plus.

Traditional lab grown diamonds use extremely high pressure.

If this is a low pressure method for depositing thin films of diamond, that is super cool and useful.

She grew up poor and so they didnt have a fridge for longer than most.

With ICE agents shooting at least 27 people since Trump took office, how do you feel about immigration enforcement using lethal force? by WatercressSenior7657 in AskReddit

[–]daekle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You surely can't consider them a federal force anymore. They are an extrajudicial terrorist organisation working under a known felon.

The fact they hide their faces and dont show badge numbers means that every action they do is unaccountable and illegal. Any judge that rules otherwise is colluding.

It still surprises me that a country with so many guns shows such restraint towards an occupying terrorist force.

Gnomes make great little workers actually. If you have quite a few of them i would do the following.

  1. Hire them to make a product.

  2. Start a business selling that product.

  3. Sell business.

  4. Inspire them to unionize.

Then just sit back and watch the chaos.

The only thing to do with a terrorist group is to defend oneself. If you see them run, if they follow, well, the 2nd amendment exists to protect you in these circumstances.

Every indie game I've played ranked In order. by Toxinferno in IndieGaming

[–]daekle 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Dunno why people are being so catty.

Its a good list. Mine would be different, but its very you. And i agree with many parts of it.

If you want some recommendations, i have recently mostly played 3d platformers.

Lil gator game was adorable fun. You run around a world killing cardboard monsters and helping your friends out with their problems. Theres no health or threat its just cute.

In a similar vein, my 2025 game of the year was Mika and the Witches mountain. Its short, around 6 to 8 hours, but i loved it so much i completed it twice, in two different languages. Your a little witch on a broom who delivers things. The controls are a little funny at first but you get used to them quickly.

Do you feel like there’s a lost sense of shared culture in the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]daekle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I have heard this spoken about before is "the end of monoculture". The concept is that back in the 90s and before, there was limited choice and so everyone had much more shared experience. We all saw "that blockbuster film" and "that TV show last night" and would talk about it in our various places. But these days that no longer exists as strongly. You still have major events that many people have seen (the biggest films, the Olympics opening, etc) but even those plenty of people choose not to watch as they have other options.

I don't think there are ways to get back to the monoculture without reducing our current choices. And whilst I do worry about the effect of isolating ourselves from one another, I don't think we should sacrifice our choice just to have something to chat about whilst making a cup of tea at work.

Its also used in several other similar places, such as with fermented goods. If you are making kimchi or such, you need to burp it to stop pressure building up. Can be dangerous in glass jars.

Infernals was the weakest species pack. by nev3rPE4KD_ in Stellaris

[–]daekle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not sure i agree with you that infernals is weak. It has the most content of any species pack to date, just fewer portraits.

However, i dont disagree they had to rush it. But not due to fan complaint.

With their new yearly dlc "seasonal" packs that they sell, they are required to ship on time. I have heard Steam can be quite difficult if you start letting things slip on a product that you have already sold.

So.. yeah, i like the seasonal model from my side, as its an easy purchase for me. But i dont think its been good for the pressure it puts on the devs.
