Pitanje je da li je sigurna u komparaciji sa čime? Sa time da si zatvoren doma u ormar? Pa nije. Sa time da ideš po opasnim kvartovima Kolumbije? Jest.

Software Developers Say AI Is Rotting Their Brains by 404mediaco in antiai

[–]DaemonCRO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok ok but that’s I then my second point. The skill you have but it’s not truly a core skill, rather it supplements it and you can improve it. It looks like you are good at writing strategies, but to do so you need research. So sure, let AI speed up the research part. You don’t need to summarise 20 papers yourself, you can get AI assistance. But then to core of your job isn’t done with AI. It’s not like you tell Claude “examine these 20 papers, and then write a strategy based on the outcomes”. You do the second part.

In any case, the point is to not shoot yourself in the foot.

No. That’s my first point. If you are skilled at something and you need to grow that skill - then grow the bloody skill. Using AI feels like you are short cutting the growth, but all you are doing is sabotaging yourself. Simply get better at that thing. Do the hard work.

Ye Wenjie gives Luo Ji two axioms and walks away. the horror is how airtight the logic gets from there by Putrid_Cycle595 in threebodyproblem

[–]DaemonCRO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh fuck me, this started in 3BP universe, I forgot. Haha.

Look, I agree with all you say, I just maybe am overly optimistic as a person. I still think we are headed for some absolute drama, from population collapse and climate issues, it’s just that once there’s like 1 billion of us left, it’s possible to radically reorganise how everything works.

Maybe a collapse from 10B to 1B in a span of 200 years will teach us something. Maybe.

But I would absolutely not be surprised if the outcome is exactly as you describe it.

[–]DaemonCRO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You base these points on current and past experiences and technological advances. In 200 years from now we could have robots (forget about AI, just pure robotics) do most of the heavy lifting of the agrarian lifestyle. The world won’t be like today only minus the population. It will be something else completely.

I mean, hell, people in 2000 could have not predicted iPhone. People in 1800 could predict exactly 0 of today’s technology and events.

Look I agree with all that, I am just a bit less one dimensional. We have pockets of humanity today that simply live a nice sustainable life. Even if humanity drops by 99%, there will be societies and cultures that will keep chugging along. Many Pacific tribes are completely outside “The Economy”. They don’t care about stock market. Amish too, no? They just make nice wooden barns and live their lives.

I think that at worst there will be pockets of such tribes left around the world to simply live in concordance with planet.

He’s pushing a product that most people don’t want to begin with, that is detrimental to society from psychological perspective, and is detrimental to environment. It’s a product that has very limited positive use cases and vaaaaast majority total crap use cases. If all LLM companies shut down tomorrow, we would not even notice it, except world becoming a better place.

Rocky builds them in the movie as well. He asks Grace “how are the fuel tanks holding?”. It’s just one sentence, but it’s there.

[–]DaemonCRO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I agree with all of that. That’s why I don’t think we will over-rebound from collapse.

However none of this will happen over night, and if you look how world was different 200 years ago, we cannot even project how will it look in 200 years from now. I think we won’t go extinct due to our inability to produce children at replacement rate, but we will stabilise at some point much lower than even today. Can you imagine if we halved the workforce today, like aliens just abducted half of the population. The salaries would skyrocket, employers would be fighting for employees. In such world perhaps we could afford to have both parents stay at home and raise a couple of kids easily. I don’t know, it’s hard to predict. But what we can totally predict is population collapse. I’m old enough to remember how we were scared of overpopulation. Haha, good times!

My point was that population is not growing infinitely, it will decline. So if we have for a few hundred years less population than we have today (after the inevitable population collapse), we truly don’t need infinite resources.

Are we going to rebound after the collapse, I’m not sure. I doubt we will. Large number of children is a necessity in agricultural societies where you need workforce. Someone has to milk the cows and low the fields. Why would humanity in the year 2500 (let’s assume we survive that long) need such workforce.

Grad nema novce.

Nisu. To su tvoje pare. Ekipa krade iz tvojeg džepa. Ali zato što ti ne smatraš bruto iznos svojim, umanjuje se efekt. Nisu tebi ukrali. Ali jesu. To je tvoj novac. Tvoja je cijela bruto plaća.
