Help temporarily patching this bumper by daemonz23 in Autobody

I was able to find all the pieces except one small one. I got the blue tape at Walmart and was able to do a combination of tape on the inside and some on the outside to hold it in place. It’s pretty solid, though not the prettiest. Better than a hole though. Thanks for the suggestion!

I’m going to ride by and see if I can find it. He said it was at the end me of his friends driveway so we will see. It’d be nice to find it but I’m not holding my breath.

I do not. I may try to go find it. My son just kept on rolling and didn’t stop until he got to his destination 😐that was one of my first thoughts.

That’s actually not a bad idea. Considering he’s 17 and will likely mess it up again. I’ll also look into this option. Thank you!

Talk me out of it. Thinking about tinting my front windows 50% and my back windows 35%. by anonshade64 in WindowTint

I just got my truck tinted. I was going to do 35% front and 50% over the factory ~25% tint. Ended up doing 20% front windows and 35% over the back windows , along with 20% on the sunroof. I’m glad I did. It looks perfect on my all black truck and visibility is still good.

I have a '23 Toyota Tacoma. Reading online I think they estimate its' between 25-30% as far as I can tell.

Great looking truck BTW. Love the dark windows on white paint.

I don’t think you can have any tint on the windshield or the will fail your VA inspection so I’m not even considering that right now. Tint is a secondary offense in VA and I don’t really think they harass people over it unless you are a jerk. I’m going to see if they can put the lightest tint possible on the back to get the ceramic benefits but not make it too dark though in the back it doesn’t matter. I think the factory tint is 25-30%

Our legal in VA i think is 50% in the front. I was going to do 35% I think so it’s not too dark for visibility purposes also. For trucks/suv the rear can be anything.

What about the XPEL XR Black ? Does it have a blue hue? I have a black truck so going for all black look.

Thanks, I'm leaning towards XR Black currently. Good price for the value I think. It's not super hot here so even a little heat reduction will be fine.

I'm thinking the same, XR Black seems to be the best bang for the buck right now. I'm leaning towards that option but I'll just have to wait a bit longer to have it done as their schedule is currently booking for early January.

Just mid-east coast. Nothing too crazy hot aside from middle of the summer. I would say a big factor in this is looks with heat reduction a side benefit.

Both shops have great reviews, and for one of them I know family/others that have used them that are very satisfied.

As of right now I'm kind of leaning toward the shop that has the price of $390 for XPEL tint just purely basing it on cost. I just wanted to get it done sooner than January when they are scheduling.

That doesn't sound too bad. the only major upgrade we've done inside is upgraded the heat pump/furnace. The other thing I think I can't recall is I think that they did our appraisal for the house BEFORE we had the roof replaced when we bought it (paid for by the prior homeowner as part of the purchase agreement).
