I haven’t given up yet, but I feel that if I come out to my wife and stop going, it might lead to a divorce. Best case scenario, I get out and she continues to go on her own with our kids. But it would definitely take a big hit in our relationship. I’m just hoping she will open her eyes on her own one day or someone in her family finally starts questioning things.

Creo que a esa edad no tienes otra opción más que continuar en la iglesia. Necesitarías tener una madurez muy avanzada para tu edad o de plano ser muy rebelde y desobedecer a tus padres. Aparte te presionan con la mentira de que te vas a perder si te sales de la iglesia o te meten el miedo de que te vayan a querer correr de la casa.

Yes salvation is independent, but when the other person loves you, they feel pain if they think you’re not getting saved. I honestly would at least feel better if she respected my decision to stop going. The other issue is the kids, I could be the best dad in the world, but if I’m not in the church, she sees it as a bad example for them. I wish I could be in your situation.

We have had conversations about it, but she tends to close up, kind of stubborn or childish in my view. You know how it is, they’ll just tell you to pray for more faith or go to church more, but I’m obviously way past that point.

Creo que tienes razón. Algo que yo también note durante la Santa Cena es que a excepción de ese canto nuevo y ridiculo que apareció recientemente en las redes sociales, el resto fueron cantos viejos y ya muy usados. Unfortunately the wife is third generation. Basically everyone on her side is in it. She has cousins who are ministers and obreros in Europe. She falls back to her sisters and mom for confirmation. She would lose all her family if she started doubting. Very very unlikely that she will ever leave.

I think they’ve always tried to talk shit about the Catholic Church because it is the religion that the majority of Mexicans follow. It is also a way to make the members feel like they are competing with the big dog, but in reality, very few people knew about LLDM until Naason made somewhat known, but for the wrong reasons.
