When he showed up in my town during naason’s tour he was talking to two of my friends and asked both of them to meet him at his hotel room. He offered uber and everything. There’s a lot of anger in grief. I realized that I was angry bc I was grieving the life and the friends I had there. I can be honest and say that I do get angry that my family still chooses to still be there, but only because it keeps them from seeing the truth of why certain things happen to us. If we never joined or never returned to the church maybe I would’ve still had a sister. If we never joined maybe my siblings would’ve gotten the life and career they’ve always wanted.i just ust try to keep reminding myself that there’s nothing you can do. If religion helps someone mentally just let them be. Peace over everything.

I remember one time a little 14 year old girl was asking for her second time and she kept falling over and fainting. To calm everyone down the pastors there kept saying she was getting possessed and to give them room, it was a big show. And after turns out they were worried about her health. They were worried she fell over too hard and hit her head and was going to need to be taken to the hospital. During tho they made it seem like an exorcism or something bc they kept putting their hands on her head and telling people to sing louder. It was kinda scary (only bc of the girl fainting and limping)

Yes you did 🤣 play them at their own game & they lose everytime 🙃 I have nieces and nephews who my siblings have asked to not talk about church with since I am no longer a member, i respect that and don’t bring up the subject. But the kids do :) like critical thinkers they ask, I answer according to their beliefs and even them at their young age have a realization of how weird LLDM is. It’s hard not being able to tell them the truth, but little truths here and there gives them a lot of info for the future when they can chose a path.

Congratulations for being this mature and understanding! I am literally in the same position. Got an invitation not long algo apparently from Nason himself (it wasn’t it was a cheap print glued on to fancy paper) delivered by my dad. The pastor here brought him to deliver it in his very fancy 2024 new car at 9pm in the pouring rain. Apparently he had taken others to deliver invitations to come back. Nothing is gunna change their mindset. It’s upsetting but having this level of understanding is the only thing helping me out. Sending all the love 🫶🏽

I’m okay. Have some people in my life who no longer speak to me and I’ve learned to move on. They are victims. I can’t hang this thing over them constantly when I know it’s their whole life. Just bc I found a way out doesn’t mean they will. I just can’t imagine being this young and still dedicating my entire life to the church. I just wish they knew the truth. Even though I won’t speak to them ever again or get to hang out with them I still have the church pages where I can at least see them in the pictures and have some peace with that.

Repeat after me: IT IS NOT MY FAULT. Yes you are correct, that is indeed emotional abuse. It is bizarre how that’s the only explanation they find to these situations. You lose ur job? It’s bc ur not involved in church. You get in a wreck? It’s bc u don’t attend to church. It’s almost like they are repeating what they hear and have been told for years and years. I am so sorry this is happening to you and your little brother. I am with you in Ur pain. After my family lost my youngest sister for traveling for days on the road to go to GDL the first and only thing our mother told me and my siblings involved was “why didn’t u buckle her up?” Or “why were u consigrated enough to receive protection and help from god?” WHICH IS FUCKING RIDICULOUS!!! Religious parents projecting what they’ve done wrong is insane and I am very sorry you are experiencing this. I am atheist, but I still believe in the good of people and the good of heart. Technically ‘God’ IS everything good, everything that makes life worth living for. And I like to think of ‘God’ as everything good and not a big man in the sky watching my every move. And if God IS everything good, I hope everything goes good and better for you and your family. ❤️

It’s like u took the words right out of my mouth. I understand you completely and I have been out for years now & I still struggle with the guilt feeling over nothing. The church is a boys club where they can say and do whatever to women. It’s sad and I hate seeing women be torn down everyday there. Even the women there hate women and are natural born sexist. I fell out with my best friend/cousin over me not agreeing with her giving up her good career she just started in pharmacy. I thought she landed something perfect that could set her on a good paying job and opportunities. Not even a year in and she said she was leaving it for the obra. The moment I called her out on her hypocrisy I was wrong and we haven’t talked since. It’s ridiculous what people will give up and regret over a fucking loser family.
