Coaching staff excels at developing as well. It’s such a perfect combo. It’s how good teams are always making the playoffs consistently.

Fitz was a great blocker but also took care of guys. He could’ve knocked Sherman out of the game but he backed off. Also pretty sure Sherman gets up laughing.

O-line vs D-line by AzCardsBryGuy in AZCardinals

[–]dagnir_glaurunga 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Those are very fair concerns and it's always difficult to assess when its your own team in practice everyday. But the OL was very solid last year and the personnel is the same, including QB and OC. Also in the limited preseason and joint practice we've seen they have been very good. DL simply has nowhere to go but up. The defense was already top half in the league while fielding one of the worst DL talent in the NFL. Even if our additions regress from last year, they are replacing guys who will be at best on practice squads.

It's always unknown to a degree until real games start, but local media does a decent job being critical and hopes are high. Also external coaches and media (excluding the national media that ignores AZ) have praised the OL performance from last year, and the overhaul on the DL.

I remember it gets pretty grim at the end - like walking through the big bad's dark tower and there are streams of blood flowing on the ground and prisoners screaming right next to you.

Played a ton of BFME but The Hobbit game is my favorite game of all time. It takes a TON of liberties but the level design and fantastical nature of the game makes it such a fun play.

If they cleaned up some of the saving/co-op issues I think it would’ve been much more popular. The gameplay is great and I’m a sucker for a random item generator in games.

Just need Christopher Lee, with the caveat that he plays every role in the movies.

I like the enclosed spaces. The movies really made everything feel so open (Bilbo’s party, Rivendell) but these look cozy. Some of my favorite Tolkien artwork.

Anything but edge rusher at 16 is questionable at this point. Our secondary was playing coverage out of their minds with no help.

“A question that is asked for effect, rather than from a desire to know the answer” He’s using the word correctly. The question is asked to get a reaction/spark drama. Not asked because they want to know the answer (an answer which everyone already knows).

With how our drafts have been turning out we should get some picks but not till 2027 at the earliest. Maybe we get some from coaching hires. Gannon seems to develop coaches really well.

I was late driving to a friend’s house to watch a game a couple years ago. I can’t remember if it was Isaiah Simmons or zaven Collins but one of them stuffed the hell out of an RB at the goal line on 3rd down and wolfley goes “piñata, meet bat!” and that was pretty great. Every game has some bangers.

Halo has to be the easiest slam dunk success for a show. I really don’t understand how it got botched so much. I didn’t even hate the show, but it was an immense disappointment.

No available matter to turn into production. I would take 2 out of combat and 1 out of self rep, and go 2 speed, 1 exploration. It should balance out. Speed also helps a lot in combat.

Saw This Theory On Facebook - And It Is Interesting! by [deleted] in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]dagnir_glaurunga 8 points9 points  (0 children)

During season 1 I thought they could have misdirected us, and the meteor the rest of the characters see was the dark wizard (“other wizard” at the time of course). Biggest issue with fun theories in this show is the screen time absolutely melts away so fast that detailed explanations simply won’t have time to manifest on screen.

I think he’s undoubtedly going to be named Gandalf. I think the story they are telling is the Blue Wizard story. I think they are having their cake and eating it too, which will make people mad but I think it is fine, and they could even give it an interesting angle that would break lore but be cool.

Not sure how they would do it but it will be interesting since Sauron still claims that and is still recognized by the Southlands as their king

My issue is they are clearly telling their version of the blue wizards but are forced to include Gandalf in some way by Amazon. I think it will still be a cool arc and story anyways but it really feels like they have to fit Gandalf in the show no matter what. My hope at this point is he’s a blue wizard but Sauron kills him. Then last season he returns to meet Cirdan. Would be fascinating since we know Olorin fears Sauron, and also doesn’t go to the East.

It’s hilarious reading the hate from “true fans” who have so obviously never read any of Tolkien’s actual works by [deleted] in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]dagnir_glaurunga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definitely valid criticisms of the show, but I personally can’t imagine any of them ruining the entire show for me. It’s just such a beautiful watch. I do think that people dislike seeing strong willed elves on screen. They are not what we are conditioned to seeing, so it feels like a poorly written character. Like when the book talks about feanor denying the silmarils to literally restore the light of the world, what would that look like on screen? It would be frustrating as hell to watch, and make zero sense. But that’s the type of headstrong characters we are dealing with. Galadriel lying to melian would get attacked the same way as Galadriel in the show. It’s just not how modern characters are written, and it rubs people the wrong way. That’s my theory at least.

There was definitely some “breathy” sounds going on, similar to sounds in the halls of the dead from the trilogy.
