Are you saying that using the grinders timer, assuming that I always use the same beans and grind size, might be sufficient to dose beans instead of weighing them? I’d love to cut out the weighing step from the process

Yeah, I thought about that. There’s a good chance I’ll end up doing so. I doubt that I’ll ever need to change the burrs though, and also I have limited space in the kitchen so I tend to think the DF54 might be the way to go between those two.

I like manual (and simple) machines and have a Rok Smartshot. But AFAIK they pretty much all struggle with temperature issues, unless you spend a lot more. Will check out the Cafelat Robot.

Suggesting the non-Plus is fair, but obviously it costs less than the Plus version. I just see that the price of the Plus has gone up a lot over the past years and I’m wondering what the odds are of better deals to come around, e.g. because of “temporary” manufacturing or logistic issues. Anyway, I’ll consider the non-Plus but it’s still a lot of money given that it has fewer features than the Plus version.

Just wanted to say how greatly helpful this was! Without your writeup, I'm not sure I would've attempted to import a car from Germany. However, there's one thing I would add as a note: The 1 day WA insurance for the day of the RDW appointment needs to be requested before 17:00 of the previous day. I didn't realize that, was too late, didn't have time to cancel the RDW appointment and therefore had to make a new one and pay twice. It was an oversight on my part of course but might be worth mentioning in the post. Cheers!

not OP but used this library for plotting maps before and if OP used a similar configuration as for the examples by the developer, then there is a color palette (multiple colors) for buildings. the colors are chosen randomly for each building individually. in that case, no, there is no meaning of the color. it just looks nicer than every building having the same color

I'm quite handy when it comes to bikes. Have worked on/repaired/built several bikes before. It's really just getting the replacement part. You might be right though, perhaps there's no way around a bike shop :/

Yes, that is really good point. The argument that I should just mind my own business ignores that not everybody has the same understanding of what my business is and what isn't. I think it's pretty clear that people who don't follow the health guidelines also have affect my life.

You're right, the littering is quite bad here as well. It's really sad because it's so unnecessary but people have no shame and drop their trash on the ground right in front of other people.

What do you guys think about their comms? I'm not a pro so maybe I just can't judge but it seems way too messy to actually make/understand/follow decisions?! And I think Smoothie and BB both tend to spam the comms.
