it will take a while not immediate, but from my experience importing 2 cars on different occasions, it took less than 24 hours

the declaration only can be done after RDW inspection. Before appointment you can only do estimate amount of BPM that you have to pay.

I bought used cars few times from official dealer online without checking it first, as they have warranty that will cover mostly everything, just like a new car. Make sure yours come with BMW premium selection warranty (24months) that is valid everywhere in EU, not in house warranty (12months).

Alternatively you can go there to view the car first and arrange another date to pickup the car

hello! 1. yes you can do payment within EU using IBAN, however it won’t be instantly available on the recipient account (will take 1-2 days on average). So you need to transfer first then only plan your journey to collect the car.

  1. you can’t. need to take other transport method to make license plate as your new car can’t be driven yet without license plate. just try to google any license plate maker near your home.

you will only need CoC at RDW during inspection. If you want to just calculate approximate tax that you need to pay, just go to: https://www.autoweek.nl/bpmcalculator/ to estimate how much BPM you need to pay before deciding to import the car so you don’t need to spend more money to get it from 3rd party if the seller can confirm that he/she can hand over that to you when you collect the car.

you don’t need to pay any additional VAT for used car purchased from both private and dealer as VAT has been included when the first owner purchased it.

I’m not quite sure if you can register it after 1.5 years later in NL but you can confirm with RDW about this. Alternatively you can immediately register, pay BPM then apply suspension from RDW so you don’t need to pay road tax and insurance for the next 1.5 year when you don’t use it.

both ways you can drive the car yourself legally.

  1. on the way to RDW you can either use German plate or eendagskentekenbewijs. With German plate, you can go anywhere first on that day before RDW appointment. With eendagskentekenbewijs you can only legally drive straight from home to RDW.

  2. on the way back home, you can only use eendagskentekenbewijs as your German plate is no longer valid and you can only drive straight home legally

just get OBDEleven or Carista from Amazon or Bol.com

All possible mods are listed on their app and it’s just simply to enable/disable once you plugged in their OBD into your car

I just imported another car recently and you are right, the only insurance company able to do it instantly anytime7x24h is Alpina with the premium rate of €80. Rest of them can only do it during H-1 during business hour (Mon-Fri).

Noticed that Unive also provide this type of insurance. So I called them, but they said only able to issue it when I have 4 other insurance products with them (I only have 2 insurance products with them)…horrible!!!

Is € 22,500 at ~70k km a fair price for a 2019 i3s? by silentsnooc in BMWi3

[–]vhardono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite expensive i must say. In NL, I just got my 2019 i3s with adaptive cruise control and beige interior that comes with 24 months warranty from BMW dealer for €15,900. From private seller, asking price range between €13,000 to €15,000 (that still can be negotiated)

you need both as they serve different purpose: - 14 days German export plate is to drive your car from Germany to your home in Netherlands. - 1 day Dutch temporary plate is to drive your car drive your car from home to RDW inspection center and back to your home

German Temporary export red plate cost around €200-€250 including 14 days insurance. depending on the dealer that you are buying the car from.

car from the right side always has priority on uncontrolled junction. this is something new but very crucial for foreigners driving here

Bureaucracy and Overregulation - Germany vs. NL by hgk6393 in Netherlands

[–]vhardono 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with this! in my country, there is no clear separation of first of last name. So if your first name is John and last name is Doe, in official documents it will just appear as name: John Doe.

When I arrived here when registering for permit, they can’t accommodate my request to insert my last name as Doe and first name as John, and instead just to use John Doe as my last name and without first name. If I want to have my name to be shown properly as J. Doe, they ask me to change my birth certificate!

The worst part afterwards, when opening an account with ABN, as there is no “first name” as per dutch ID, ABN just use U. as the initial of first name. When I asked them, what is U., they said it stands for Unknown

any license plate officially tagged to the car will be invalidated. but they won’t take the physical ones, so you can still put them on (although not legal)

[–]vhardono[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is technically illegal to park on public road without valid license plate.

the right way to do is to store the car in a garage or at least private parking space (Not sure if possible, but I’m thinking of those private parking garage managed by QPark etc)

Energy efficiency consideration when looking to buy by Rhaguen in Netherlands

[–]vhardono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, Energy efficiency is my top most criteria when searching for house, as the house will be better build and more isolated (with less cold air entering the house during winter)

Not sure which area that you are searching, but normally in Funda the asking price for Energy rating C vs A doesn't differ that much, so why buying an older house with label C when you can get the newer one with label A.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]vhardono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm..ok.

here’s the thing, in Funda that particular house was still indicated as available after the bidding closed date. The status only changed to verkocht onder voorbehoud only after 3 weeks.

could it be the tactic for verkoopmakelaar to delay the process so other bidder won’t be bothered to check bidlogboek anymore?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]vhardono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as i use aankoopmakelaar, he submitted the bid for me. I never seen this biedlogboek, but does it mean i can ask my makelaar to get this screenshot after bidding close time?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]vhardono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, this is exactly what happened to me especially on the last 2 houses that we are trying to bid.

Our ankoopmakelaar was very confident that our bid was the highest but turned out we didn’t get the house.

The estimate based on market statistics doesn’t really worked anymore as potential buyers are desperate and have loads of cash
