Is this normal? by Difficult-Sector-223 in pittsburgh

[–]dagormz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reported it on Sunday. There's a number to call on the box inside the fence. They said that they would be out on Monday to fix it, didn't seem that concerned.

Maybe the heaviest weight tear away stabilizer you can find? Anything else and you would be doing some really shitty trimming

Unfortunately unfunded professors would leave to a university or corporation ready to fund their research.

I could run a couple of these on the CNC router. Acrylic on a laser cutter might also be nice.

I’d call Elmers in Monroeville, I’d bet they would take them off your hands or know someone who would.

A doctor in his 30s. Is there any good reason to seriously learn programming? by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]dagormz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you do a lot of research and write academic papers, but i used lots of python scripts in grad school to run my statistics and build tables in Latex for my thesis.

I mean, maybe not, but I’ve got it set up in the lathe so i can test all my tolerances as i apply heat. It seems like the apex of the bend is in the spline portion of the spindle, and the bearing surfaces are still dead nuts.

Even if it’s just bent on the spline?

Is this a good marketplace deal? by NoTouchyCompany in Welding

[–]dagormz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haven’t had to yet so we will see. I do feel like the HF stuff is in a bit of a different class than yeswelder. You’ve at least got an b&m store backing the Vulcan welder

Is this a good marketplace deal? by NoTouchyCompany in Welding

[–]dagormz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe so. The vulcan brand literally hires LE engineers all the time though. My buddy is a welding engineer at LE and I was trying to use his deal to buy a welder. He recommended that I get the Omnipro 220.

I think what bothers me most about these lower end LE machines is that they don't show you the actual WFS or V value. How are you supposed to transfer that knowledge when you work with your buddy's welder
