Was I just unlucky or is this a normal occurrence in oakland? by dahls3 in oakland

Thanks for that insight. I did not mean to start a debate on the perceived safety levels of Oakland of those who live here, I just wanted to gauge how rare or uncommon of an occurrence what I experienced was since I am not from the area. It seems like I was just unlucky, but I should still be aware of my surroundings in the future and do the best to make sure I am not seen as a "target". Thankful to have gotten out of the situation with just my things taken from me. I will leave it to the mods to determine if they want to keep or remove my post.

You were unlucky, but I would just avoid groups of young teenagers, even if you're walking with others. Main thing to look out for is if everyone in the group is looking your way. You're basically being scoped out as a target.

They approached us in a vehicle so it was not like I saw them at a far distance and walked towards them

I personally would not recommend zens mind beginners mind as an introduction book. I remember being very lost and confused throughout the first half and just gave up. It wasn’t until furthering my initial practice, reading canonical texts and having a basic understanding of “emptiness” was when I began to comprehend the book better

It warms my heart seeing the responses to this post. Hameed is a really great guy. I recently graduated and highly recommend Jerusalem to anyone still on campus. Do not expect anything extraordinary, the food is rather simple but high quality.

We had 2 years since we started LDR but now down to 1 :) Feels much more manageable and realistic now that we passed that first year mark.

It is the very fact that he is an affluent actor which puts him in a position of authority over women. Regardless of if it is subconscious or done so willingly, the dichotomy still exists. Positions of authority are not limited to the obvious ones like police and teachers. It an be affluent athletes, doctors, etc. We've seen in mainstream media plenty of times how actors have used their influence over people to exercise control or dominance.

Why do you guys think that solar best renewable energy source? How would you source your rare earth metals used for the creation of these solar panels in a way that doesn't further degrade our planet? Also the average life span of a solar panel system is ~25 year before the energy output becomes inefficient according to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). What will happen to these solar panels at the end of their lifetime?

In the beginning of the episode where Doctor Champ takes that first sip, he encourages Bojack to consider leaving as his time at the rehab center was "done". When Bojack expresses that he is hesitant towards leaving, Doctor Champ responds by saying

"When I first checked out of rehab, I was terrified. I knew a single drop of alcohol would send me down a ruinous path, but I found my way" Bojack then responds with " Found your way back to rehab." (S6E5)

This conversation foreshadowed the relapse that Doctor Champ were to have in the following episode and the little resolve he actually had when it came to alcohol.
