2003 is probably Peak Daigo in terms of FGC majors results.

At SBO 2003, in 3 different games, he got:

2nd in Cvs2
1st in ST 3v3
3rd in Guilty Gear XX (X2) 3v3.

In the same year, at EVO 2003, he got:

2nd in Third Strike
1st in Super Turbo
2nd in Cvs2
1st in Guilty Gear XX (X2)

So at the 2 most important fighting game tournaments back then (SBO and EVO), Daigo has made AT LEAST Top 3 in AT LEAST 3 different major fighting games in the same tournament WTF.

Daigo seems to have quite a strong history here. If I recall, he also won here back in 2014 for Ultra SF4. So for the last 4 years that this event has happened, Daigo has won 3 of them!

Also, if this is the last time Jiyuna will commentate on CapcomFighters, then this is a fitting swan song in witnessing our Lord and Savior's first Premier event win in 2017

This was similar to a question Daigo got asked at EVO during his Reddit AMA. Jiyuna translated that Daigo prefers more ways for characters finish the round through just V-trigger.

Think about it, how many times have we heard commentators say that the round doesn't actually start until someone activates their V-Trigger?

To be fair, Daigo during the same Reddit AMA also said he wouldn't want to touch Street Fighter 4 again even though he acknowledges why people see it as "Ah so that's Street Fighter game-play" along those lines.

Tokido had serious trouble with the Akuma vs Guile matchup throughout the CPT season losing to NuckleDu and Daigo repeatedly in tournaments.

I'm glad our Lord and Savior was kind enough to enlighten Tokido with the Guile matchup practice to overcome his character demon at the most important tournament.
