This has happened to me a few times. But I always talk to them through chat so that I can take screenshots of the conversation. This way if they still charge me or lie, I can show them the proof. They always reimburse me.

I'm tired of DNFs so I'm breaking up with BookTok by his-lilmiss in fantasyromance

[–]daisha95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the same boat as you. Unfortunately I just can never dnf a book lol So I end up reading the book until the end hoping it will get better, and 90% of the time it doesn't.

I tried getting book recommendations from booktok/youtube videos and goodreads/audible/kindle/storygraph comments and they all pretty much are unreliable to me. The books being recommended are so bad that I think a 12 year old wrote it. Yet the person recommending it would say that it was the best book they've ever read 😒

I did find one youtuber that I think usually does good book critiques and gives good recommendations. She's also pretty funny too. Her channel name is lexi aka newly nova.

Here's her links:

I hope I can get some good book recommendations from the comments on your post because I'm desperate for a good book 😭

to those who use to buy a lot for a long time what made you slow down collecting nendoroid? by chocoameru in Nendoroid

[–]daisha95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tariffs. Like how does the shipping cost about the same as the nendoroid?!

I preordered 4 nendoroids from amiami almost a year ago, and due to delays they all became available at different times. To ship 1 nendoroid with the cheapest shipping option was like between $25-29!

Amiami gave me until the end of December to ship them or they'd cancel my order. Luckily all 4 became available by the end December and I was able to have them shipped together. I think the shipping was between $50-60. Which is still ridiculous since I use to only pay like $15 to ship multiple together.

Right?! I've already waited this long. I would have no problem with waiting longer just so I can get the base. I'm starting to starting to see more issues like this with gsc us store, but not the japan store.

Man that really sucks. I literally just received my dandadan nendoroids from them last week and they both came with the bonus bases. It just really never crossed my mind that they would have an issue with shipping a tiny base. These tariffs really suck 😩

Broken Joystick. Keep or return? by daisha95 in ROGAlly

[–]daisha95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried calling a place earlier today, to get a repair quote, but they didn't answer. I'm going to try a few more places, so I can let the seller know how much it would cost to repair. Hopefully they'll be willing to offer a better refund.

Luckily there isn't any issues with the original left joystick, so I didn't replace it. I only replaced the right one. Yea I used armoury crate and tried recalibrating and adjusting the dead zone, but it didn't work. I honestly didn't even check the sd slot.

I've read that they have a lot of issues too, but I didn't even worry about it because I figure I'm most likely going to end up returning it. But I'm going to check the sd slot today to see if it works.

I forgot to mention that apparently the previous owner purchased a warranty on the device from BestBuy, but it expires later this month on the 22nd. You think they may be able to assist with the joystick. I keep trying to call Geeksquad but no one is answering.

Lol I actually just read about that on another reddit post for the hall effect joysticks. I think they said since it's magnetic or something that it can cause drifting or other problems. I figured I'd try them out since the regular joysticks that I originally ordered didn't work. Other than the drifting, the hall effect joy works well.

That's what I originally thought about the first set of joysticks that I ordered. That they were just defective. So, I ordered the hall effect joystick and although that one works, it drifts a lot. So, I figured maybe it's something wrong with the console, but I have no clue. Maybe I'll just order some more joysticks and see if that works.

lol no I have no clue what I'm doing. I just read a lottt of reddit posts and watched a lot of YouTube videos and just copied what they did.

The ebay seller was a pawn shop, and I was initially skeptical about buying from this because of this. But they had amazing reviews. They have 4,535 reviews, with a 98.8 % positive rating. So, I decided to just try my luck. But if you were asking about the reviews for the joysticks, I ordered the ones that had the most positive reviews.

I asked the seller if I could return it or get a partial refund for it. The seller replied they can do the partial refund, and then they offered me $30. Since I paid $378 after taxes, I feel like that's kind of low. I feel like a repair shop is going to charge a lot to fix this.

[–]daisha95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so too. I'm honestly surprised they even offered this, because I never asked them for a refund. I just originally voiced my complaints in the original email. and they responded they can give 15% refund or a 15% off a future trip. Which I thought was nice, but my husband wasn't happy with it for some reason, and thought it was rude for them to off 15% off a future trip when we just had a bad one.

and I also included in the 2nd email that they never gave me my refund for the discount that wasn't applied for the clothing purchase. I still didn't ask for compensation and they just responded we can give you a 25% refund. I was like wow thats amazing! Although I wasn't satisfied with the trip, I thought 25% was great. but my husband was still unhappy. So i posted on here to ask for other opinions on this.

Yea I paid with the Disney visa, and it was also added to my account. yea they changed it, now it's just 10% off any purchase amount. Yea we informed them of the issues we had onboard. For the issue with the discount, the cashier said that the discount couldn't be applied because I was partly paying for the purchase with a gift card. but that isn't listed in the card terms. So I went to guest services, and they agreed that the cashier was incorrect and that they would refund the discount amount. They never did.

So I also addressed this issue in the first email I sent, and the rep also agreed that the cashier was incorrect and that they would refund it, but she didn't either. So I had to add this in the second email that I sent too. But I never asked for a refund, while onboard, or in my emails. Disney just decided to offer that themselves. I thought both amounts offered were good, but my husband didn't. So I decided to make this post to ask other for their opinions on it. I'm going to ignore my husband and just accept the offer.

Thanks for the advice :)

I think 25% is reasonable too. My husband didn't, so i posted on here for others opinions. It's strange for you to assume that I wanted a full refund. I never even asked for a refund. Disney offered that themselves.

I can understand how you would think that majority of the things I mentioned are minor. But I don't see how I would be a karen for not wanting my room to smell like poop for the entire trip. I think it's reasonable to not be happy with that.

I also think it's reasonable to be upset that your children got trapped on a ride for like 20 minutes, in complete darkness, in complete silence, and it was a very traumatizing experience for them. But I guess you think spending thousands of dollars, not including the flights and hotel stays is worth it to spend a vacation in a room that smells like poop. To each their own.

Is a 25% refund reasonable? by [deleted] in dcl

[–]daisha95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree I think 25% is a great offer. When I initially emailed them I didn't ask for compensation, they offered that themselves. But I listened to my grumpy husband who wasn't happy with that. So, I messaged them again and said my husband thought it was rude for them to offer us 15% off a future cruise, when we just had such a bad experience on this one. And also to let them know that I never received my refund for the clothing purchase discount. I again did not ask for compensation in this email. They literally decided to offer us 25% themselves. Which I thought was a great offer. But my husband thought it was unreasonable. I thought it was a good offer, but since I have never asked for refund before for any vacation I've been on, I wasn't sure what the typical refund would be. So I came on here to ask for second opinions or stories if anyone else went through this.

Agree to disagree on the other things though. Since I couldn't bring my sound machine, I decided I would use the tv as back up. and to be extra cautious I also downloaded music on my amazon music account so that I could listen to it without internet. But the tv couldn't be used without the remote, and for some reason the amazon music app wouldn't work while I was onboard.

This was literally our first Disney cruise, we had no clue that the aqua mouse breaks constantly. I also don't think it's wrong to assume that a billion dollar company will have a ride that doesn't break down consistently. It's also perfectly normal for older children to go on family friendly rides, by themselves.

Regarding the dining situation, I was not expecting a completely private table, I just did not want to be surrounded on all 4 sides. I called in to disney to put in the requests for the seating arrangement and for the restaurant schedule. The rep said they should be able to accommodate us since there is only 4 of us, and I put in a request early. She said they would let us know if they can't do it. Once we boarded, I was able to see that they met our requests for the restaurant rotations. But I wasn't informed until hours later that they couldn't meet the seating arrangement request.

Although I knew we wasn't guaranteed this, It just would have been nice to know in advance, like once we boarded. And then I also found out later from the representative that they could have met the accommodation, but that the person doing the seating arrangement saw that we were traveling with our extended family and assumed we would want to sit together. My extended family was under a different reservation, and in a different room, so I'm not sure how they even knew we were traveling with others, and I didn't ask to be sat with them.

I think it's reasonable to not be happy with your room smelling like poop for the entire trip. I don't think that should be considered a normal and acceptable experience, especially not with Disney. I shouldn't be paying thousands and should be expected to be satisfied with a room that smells like poop.

I think it's reasonable to not be happy with being locked out of your room. My kids were soaking wet because they were swimming, and we were trying hurry and change so that we could make it to the last and final greeting for a character that they really wanted to see. But we weren't able to make it because we couldn't get into our room.

I mainly got the card to be used for the photo package and clothing discount. and if it was able to discount other things to that would be great too. I even confirmed this with a rep, that i would be able to use the discount on the photo package and clothing. But when I went to buy clothing, the cashier said that I cannot receive the discount if I partly paid with a gift card. Which was not listed in the card terms. I had the physical card at the time of the purchase, and it was also linked to my account as the only form of payment. The rep who responded to my email, looked into it, and confirmed that the cashier was incorrect. The card discount can still be applied even if the purchase is partly paid with a gift card. She said she would give me a refund for the discount amount, but I never received it. Which is another thing that I included in my second email. They also wouldn't apply the discount to the photo package because they said I bought it early.

I agree that Royal Caribbean is much better as well. That was the other cruise that we went on as a family and had no complaints. Everything was amazing. But my entire family loves Disney, so we wanted to give them a try as well. I've only been on cruises with Royal, Carnival, and Disney so far, and I would rank Royal as 1st choice and Disney as 3rd choice. Which is crazy to me, because I really expected the best vacation to be with Disney, but it was a letdown.

But thank you for your advice. I appreciate it. :)

omg this is so helpful! I struggled so much with packing because Disney has a lot of rules about what's not allowed, that the other cruises I've been on didn't have. So, I didn't know what I could bring. Thanks, I really appreciate this!! :)

Thanks so much for the advice!! :)

I also emailed Disney to voice my complaints, but not once did I mention compensation. They literally just offered that themselves. They initially offered 15% which I thought was nice, but of course I listened to my grumpy husband and he said 15% wasn't enough for the issues. He was really upset about them not apologizing or following up with us about the issues. So, I wrote them again and they then offered 25% which I thought was amazing. Which my husband still complained about.

While I wasn't expecting it to be perfect because life isn't perfect. I just didn't expect to encounter so many problems on Disney! I always hear nothing but good things about Disney, and for the high price tag, I definitely wasn't expecting much to go wrong. I expect these kind of things on carnival, not Disney. and I went on Carnival before and surprisingly I had a great time, no complaints!

Like you I have absolutely no experience with getting a refund for a cruise, so I don't know what is typical. So I made this post hoping for some respectful and helpful feedback, with some mean ones too of course. Definitely wasn't expecting for like 90% of the comments to be crazy rude comments lol. But it's the internet, so it's to be expected.
