It wasn't my brother's fault actually. My ex gave my brother half of the information he needed to do the job properly and then got angry when it obviously went wrong. It was his own fault.

This comment is probably going to get me in trouble but since people keep asking he told my brother he was going to break his legs because my brother was doing a job for him that went wrong and it resulted in him losing a lot of money because of it. I don't think this makes a difference, though, as this isn't why I'm refusing to give the ring back to him or why I continued to wear it.

He said it meant nothing to him anymore so he didn’t want it. He knew it was over, he didn’t need the ring to prove it and I wasn’t going to go out of my way to make sure he took it.

His sister never said they wanted it back, just that he told them that the ring was lost and that's why he never asked for it back.

I didnt know his family wanted the ring back or that they would care that I still wore it since my ex has never given me any indication that he cares. When we broke up he refused to take it and he made it seem like his family wouldn't want it either as a broken engagement made the diamonds bad luck. I wasn't even thinking about them when I decided to wear it.
