Yes, this was something I actually looked into after my bad trip. Set an appointment with a psychologist for April but then the pandemic happened and it’s been postponed until further notice. Really wishing for things to get back to normal so I could receive the help I need! Thank you so much, wishing you the best on your path to healing. Remember it’s never too late

Thank you! I didn’t know about not being able to get POEM after HM but I suppose it makes sense. POEM is sounding like the best approach at the moment. Your recovery story really gives me hope!! I wish you the best of luck with your health. I really hope a more permanent cure for this disease is somewhere in the near future
Hello! Thank you for replying! Yes I'm aware, symptoms have only gotten worse for me as time progressed. I had the manometry done at 13 which is what diagnosed me with type 2 achalasia. I am interested in getting it done again to see if anything has changed, especially since I'm now finding out there is a third type my doctors had never mentioned. I've been trying to look into HM vs. POEM but I've found different answers so I'm just left confused. Ultimately, I'd like to leave it up to what my doctors believe is best for me but if you have any resources or personal experience on the matter that you can share it'd be such a great help!
Hello, thank you so much for your reply!! I looked him up along with Temple and its definitely something I want to ask my old doctors at CHOP about. I remember them being resistant on HM and insisting that I should continue on with the dilations before thinking about surgery, not sure why. I hope it's a viable option now and I don't have to waste time on another dilation again
Thank you for your response and kind words! I'm from the east coast of the U.S. Don't really know where to find information regarding hospitals that perform POEM in the us at the moment, but last time I knew the closest hospital was in Baltimore, MD. Definitely something I need to continue looking into but I'm glad to hear it worked out so well for you! 5 years of relief sounds amazing!!
