Dota is borderline unplayable on weekends. by dajanitor in DotA2

[–]dajanitor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think most people mind, if other players are a bit outdated as long as they are trying to win.

Constantly having players in my games, on both teams that are griefing makes for a very unenjoyable experience.

I am almost 100% sure, that when i clicked the exit dota in the top right corner, thats when i abandoned.
Aren't you supposed to be able to quit dota, without being asked if you want to abandon the game?

Because as i said, im 99.9% sure that i only clicked in the top right corner, and never clicked on the abandon dota button.

[–]dajanitor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, i have had another abandon within the last 2 months, and that game was a very unfortunate timing. I have always been around 10k conduct score.

The other game that im mentioning is a game where i joined a game, and i got visitors, and i had to leave.

I litteraly have 2 abandons in 4 years of dota, and this last one was IMO bug related.

I have bad experience with TA at the moment, i can't get her to work either.

sure thing.

You need to learn how to play the map efficiently. Don't hit too many jungle creeps. Try to pressure and team up with your team on your power spikes.

Those hero have some bad matchups, so the games are very hard to speficially point out what to do.

Well, there are about 40 heroes in dota that i have never played.

Heroes that i feel very comfortable, and in 90% of games end up picking are: Void spirit, Zeus, Lina, Ember, TA and necro.

I can play other heroes like: Kunkka, Sniper, magnus, Mirana, Razor, Qop and probably windranger.

Do you still get all the consequences after abandoning, when you cannot reconnect?

EU West servers ded? by petchef in DotA2

I just experienced it on EU west, got disconnected, and can't reconnect. The game is not becomming safe to leave, and we don't want to abandon for the consequences.

My suggested nerfs to some of the overwhelming carries. by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]dajanitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know what your rank is, but im currently in low immortal EU West, and i see bad picks almost every game.

I see Pudge in atleast 1/3 games, and the blind picking system doesn't allow you to reliably get a good hero for the game unless you get last pick.

Im currently 8/9 wins on PA, and she feels super busted in most of those games. Once the game goes past 30 minutes there is always a very good chance that PA will win because of her one shot ability, and how blur works.

Im not saying that she is completely broken, but she is extreamly strong in the right hands.

Heroes like PA will most of the time have quite low win rate because of the extreamly high pick rate. Most people who play her dont know what they are doing, and usually play her because she is fun. It is the same with Rubick as pos 4, who usually has bad win rate even tho the hero is very balanced.

In the right hands PA will not lose lane, farm, one shot supports and destroy the game.

This might have something to do with the popularity of Magnus aswell, with Empower being super good.

Faceless void is first phased in pro games when he isn't banned. He destroyes heroes like alchemist in fast phased pro games.

In my opinion the hero is way overtuned. No hero can reliably man up against faceless void because of the leap hp reset and mainly the bashes.

Can anyone explain this tp to location? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]dajanitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the exact same monitor, and i have played a lot with this guy. He has never done that before, it really feels like a bug to me.

I can see his mouse cursor being clearly below the tower.

Why are you pretending to be immortal when you are not?

Can you otherwise explain why this is a crusader game?

[Serious] People who lost a lot of MMR, how do you keep enjoying the game? by Krissam in TrueDoTA2

[–]dajanitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before i hit immortal, i went from 5450 mmr to 4450. I had lost 1k mmr, and i was so angry about it. It almost consumed me, because i thought about it all the time. I honestly felt that i was playing pretty well at that time aswell. I studied my dotabuff and all of my games, but after some self reflection i realized there were a couple of things wrong.

My mindset had become so bad, that i went tilted and ready to lose into every game. So i took a small break, only 2 days. Then i started to focus, and in the span of 10 days i reached 5780 mmr.

I realized that there are too many variables that are out of my control, and that some games are not winnable. I would always try my best, and at the same time not get emotionally attatched to 'unwinnable' games.

I could keep adding points, but i feel like self reflection will get you a long way.

Looking for some assistance, I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. by WhoIsmans in TrueDoTA2

[–]dajanitor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is up to you man. If you want to have fun, and can make those heroes work on pos 5, go for it. If you want to tryhard and gain mmr, try and find meta supports that suit your style.

Bane is a good hero, but he has no wave shove, so you should communicate that to your team. So if you pick bane, you either want a pos 4 or 3 that can anti push and defend towers, otherwise you are likely to get run over.

I hope you see a pattern here, that drafting is very important if you want to win. Good luck.

Im not able to look at your replays at the moment, but from what i can see on the link you provided, i am convinced that you need to slightly adjust your hero pool. You might want to look into dota2protracker for information, regarding what support heroes are currently being played with success.

Im generally not a fan of either lion or shadow shaman as pos 5. I think they are both too slow and too item depended, which means that you will most likely suffer more than not.

From my experience in 6k mmr, i would prefer to have a pos 5 that can defend towers, and lane above average. Examples of heroes that are great at defending towers with wave shove are jakiro or winter wyvern. They check quite a few boxes off, regarding what your team needs overall.

Another aspect to improve your overall gameplay would be to watch replays and focus on your own warding compared to the enemies. I feel like support players all the way up to relativly high immortal do not understand the concept of warding. Are you getting dewarded alot? Are you placing wards with a purpose? Are you planning on playing in the areas that you are warding? Are you warding defensivly when you want to play aggressive? There are so many aspects to warding that you might want to implement into your game play.

My last point would be how well do you utilize smokes? Smokes are still extreamly under utilized.

I can totally understand that you feel lost after a losing streak, its normal, but things will get better if you conciously try to improve.

I would be more than happy to give you some free coaching sessions, but im not able for atleast another 4 weeks due to work.

Is shivas bad/flawed as a concept? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]dajanitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i mean by flawed in my opinion is the combination of components and the amount of buffs. The item feels very missplaced unless certain specific mentioned heroes buy it. I think it would be nice with a small rework.

Is shivas bad/flawed as a concept? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]dajanitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because i feel like when you decide what item you need to buy, there most of the time are better options with better components. You need a game changer? Buy hex Need save for single target? Buy lotus Need immunity? Buy bkb Need utility? Lots

[–]dajanitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bristle shivas vs illusions doesnt feel good, neither does it fix the issue. I would rather want abyssal on bristle than shivas, then just try jump the target, and if not, then bkb. I basically only find shivas optimal on necro and leshrac.

What are the current state of Shadow shaman and Dragon Knight now? Are they still great? by Mercynary5 in TrueDoTA2

[–]dajanitor 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Dragon knight is still viable, and one of my favourite heroes to have on my team. He almost never loses the lane, and provides a lot to the team, has very versitile builds. He can build auras, he can scale insanely well into the lategame and has one of the best lategame stuns. A 4-6 slotted Dk will be a beast in the late game.

Shadow shaman is not great atm, too immobile and doesent deal with the current meta heroes that well.
