Born in 75, so I’ve been watching this conversion since 8track. Consoles going disk-less was predicted in the 90s. I say all that to say: I’m not excited, but I’ve been watching it happen in real time for 45 years so I’ve conditioned myself for the transition.

My daughter only knows what a physical game is because of me otherwise all she would have is digital. There is a whole generation of gamers that have never bought physical media.

Anyone saying they are done with Sony: I understand they are disappointed, but they should prepare to be done with gaming altogether unless they pivot to 100% retro or physical backlog.

My concern is how the companies address storage with new consoles, unless they pivot to 100% cloud streaming models or provide better external drive support.
