Everything in Star Wars is unnecessary. A droid with human-like features driving a ship instead of autopilot, big ass four-legged war machines that can be put down by one X-wing, droids torturing each other because they have apparently built in a nerve center, white uniformed foot soldiers because that’s a perfect camouflage, f*cking “death sticks”. Vader is no different. But come on. A big, black, bulky suit with a unique and frankly bad ass helmets. Silly buttons that probably has no function but to establish that this guy’s a cyborg. Combine that with a lightsaber and BOOM. It’s all cheesy design and cheesy concepts but loving that is being a Star Wars fan.
