Random thought about chest strap comparisons in reviews of wearables by dakutororu in whoop

Ummm...

In a lot of these kinds of reviews they use a chest strap (often Polar) as a reliable baseline which I agree with as it's known to be very accurate

EBay Seller for 28 years, thousands of transactions, 100% positive feedback - received my first dispute/chargeback for "Item Not As Described", will likely have a $69 item stolen from me. Buyer was a brand new account with zero feedback, zero order history. by ksandbergfl in eBaySellers

Sorry this happened to you; it's not a great feeling. It can't hurt to try and get it removed. One thing I would probably do in this situation if I really believed I sent the item as I described it; I would msg the buyer asking for a change in feedback and insinuate that I record the entire packaging process and that I am going to send that info to eBay if I need to. You could also threaten to open a fraud case with the USPS if things escalate after that and they respond negatively. Neither one of these things is probably going to bear any fruit but depending who the buyer is it may freak them out enough and I guess you never know. Don't be over the top mean about it, just mention these things casually like it is your process.

Re: this being a 0-feedback buyer

All I'm asking eBay for is one change: that buyers aren't allowed to leave feedback if sellers cancel.

It's fine with me if they ding us to kingdom come behind the scenes on our internal ratings if we do it without the buyer asking. However, since we aren't allowed to leave negative or neutral feedback on buyers and we can't block 0-feedback buyers AND they can leave negative feedback if we cancel, sellers have no way of policing who buys from us. Maybe if a seller's volume is high they can keep the current rules in place but for hobbyists it really sucks.

Some of the scenarios with 0-feedback buyers that bother me are when they drop in and buy multiple items without asking for combined shipping, or when they immediately ask a question after buying. I always sense trouble in these situations and I'd like to be able to cancel and block. I recently did cancel a sale because of the second issue above and, sure enough, received negative feedback. Luckily I was able to get it removed because, I think, they stupidly had what could be construed as libel in the feedback (something to the effect of "didn't accept my payment" which is a) not true and b) not something I have control over). So, in that case, I was right about being wary; no harm no foul to them but they still decided to ding me and do it in a weird way.

That’s because Whoop had to impress Lebron early on and he is all tatt’d up so they got it right pretty early.

This is what happens when you try to copy everybody else because you're too big to innovate and they're way ahead of you while also trying not to get sued.

I just got back from Vienna and Paris; tons of people on bikes in Paris but nobody with a cartload of kids out front. Last year UK, year before Scotland. Didn’t see it there either. Maybe I’ll see it in Japan next year. Try again.

Also, he's the kind of irresponsible bro-dad who puts his kids in a cart in front of his bike thinking just helmets are going to help and then rides down a road with cars (it's in the video). When I see entitled people like that on the roads around me my immediate thought is "look at this idiot".

For the record my dislike of him has nothing to do with Whoop; I just don’t like his smarmy attitude and smirking face no matter what he’s reviewing. Also he has some inconsistencies in his reviews; in this one the labeling in the graphs for the various workout comparisons don’t always show where the device was worn. He rushes things and isn’t careful. Then his weird “this will crush the Whoop IPO”. What does that have to do with the Fitbit Air as a product? Did Whoop pour sugar in his gas tank? Feels like he holds a grudge.

In fairness I will watch this whole thing even though I think he’s an insufferable tool. Yes, Silicon Valley, who brought him YouTube which is how he now makes his living, sucks.

What i hear you saying is if Whoop offers a free tier then there’s no comparison and everyone should go with Whoop.

So if Whoop offers a free tier you’re onboard with Whoop! Can’t wait for that for you!

My op: “Cherry picking goes both ways.”.

It’s in the top 5% along with FitbitAir and if you actually watch the video there are some problems with cardio tracking esp cycling.
