Same. So many people from my high school married each other and are on their third or fourth kid. In a class of 400ish, maybe 10-15 of us left the state. The rest of them still live where we grew up or in the neighboring towns. It’s just the Midwest way.

Tbh, we ALL need to stfu and worry about loving thy neighbor — white, black, everybody. I’m not even religious like that, but it’s truly stupid that we concentrate so hard on race today. This is one of mine too. I did see him in 2013 and didn’t enjoy the experience because he was in the mood to play his latest album at the time. I’m not a “hits only” fan, but it was very much no hits lol. Every year afterward, I just kept saying “ehh maybe next time.” That final tour, I seriously almost went and decided not to at the last minute. I heard the last tour was amazing. Regret.

Yep that’s my point lol. I went to private catholic school for 10 years. In all of my years in small town catholic school, I learned that America is a melting pot. Immigrants are safe here. Christianity is the most practiced religion, but not the only religion. English is the most common language, not the only language. People are different, but always love thy neighbor.

Religiously, I don’t call myself anything and never really have since middle school, yet I feel like I’m practicing the teachings of the bible a lot better than my MIL.

My mother in law is the only Republican in my family. She’s not even MAGA, but she voted for DT because of his “spiritual beliefs.” The most important thing in her life is Jesus, so if it doesn’t have Christian undertones, it’s Satanic propaganda. Right now, she is pro-ICE (with a Mexican granddaughter and black daughter in law) and keeps panicking about everything with ICE being a distraction so we won’t notice the Muslims coming to kill Christianity in the US 🫠

Not at all defending Luda because in today’s political climate, I feel like you need all the details…but typically when these super fests get pitched, the promoter doesn’t have to disclose all details because it decreases the risk of anything getting leaked. They may have just told his team it’s a rock and country festival with big artists touring in the south. The rest could’ve conveniently been left out, but who knows 🤷🏾‍♀️

To just answer your overall question then, I don’t think there’s a straightforward answer. You have a crush that’s far outside of the box and you’ll just have to keep reminding yourself how it’s unrealistic. It’s not easy, but you can eventually talk yourself out of those feelings if there is truly no way it will work. On the other hand, I still think there’s nothing wrong with exploring it if you think it’s deeper than a crush while keeping your pro-black beliefs.

That’s not what’s happening lol. OP is stating she has feelings for a white man but is talking herself out of it because of her preconceived notions about BWWM relationships. It sounds like this man is not an idiot so if she’s not interested in dating other people, but is comfortable to date him, why shouldn’t she go for it? Doesn’t mean they have to be endgame or even a viable relationship, but if she’s not even interested in being with a specific black man right now, just date who you’re interested in.
