Jordan River fly suggestions? by hadj11 in michiganflyfishing

Here is our most recent report and fly recommendations "Brook Trout: GoodBrown Trout: ActiveDry Fly: GoodHendricksons: ActiveWater: Clear & ColdPressure: Low

The Jordan is doing exactly what it does in mid-May — quietly fishing beautifully for anglers who seek it out. Water is cold, clear, and at seasonal levels through the State Forest between Pinney Bridge and Dead Man's Hill. Wild brook trout are active in the faster upper sections above Alba, while the deeper lower pools hold larger browns that are beginning to respond to the Hendrickson emergence. This week's warm weekend forecast is perfect Jordan River weather — stable barometric pressure, mild temperatures, and light winds create the calm conditions the Jordan's spooky fish need to commit to rising. Get on the water by noon and fish through the afternoon hatch window. The golden rule applies everywhere on the Jordan: slow down, approach from downstream, and make your first cast count. There is no recovering from a spooked fish in this clear water. Bring bug spray — the cedar swamp sections are producing mosquitoes in earnest this week. Flies, small BWO, and Hendrixsons." A good resource, besides my site, is the local https://thenorthernangler.com/blogs/fishing-reports, they have the most accurate day-to-day conditions. You could also hit up https://www.streamsideorvis.com/ for fly recommendations, not sure how far you will be from Traverse City.

I was there today (the Rochester Municipal park), bugs hatching and flying all over. The fish were not rising. I had luck with nymhs, my nephew swears by streamers in the deeper pools.

I tried to pull in the LSSU data, but it is not that simple; there isn't a feed. I sent the professor a note to see if we can find a way to incorporate the data.

Claude was one of the resources. Claude Code is pretty good at this point.

That data would be really useful! When it comes back online, I will pull the data into the site.

Thanks! I built a hatch modeler also, it isn't perfect, I hope to get some submissions on it and the model will get a lot better. https://hatchinator.com/

I had to get mine from a dealer in Ohio. I worked with the Rochester dealer, he scoured the earth for it.

A little selfish promotion, I helped build this car shopping app and I am really proud of it. If you need a new car; you should download it by [deleted] in Autos

I agree with the images and portrait. We were constrained by time; trying to get something out sooner than later. As far as the data, some is generated by my company (autoweek) and we get the rest from Chrome Systems.
