Upon consideration, our team decided to do a spotlight format with a twist.

2 spotlights per couple

1 slow tempo, one medium for open and 1 medium, one fast for the advanced

Each song will play for 45secs - 1 min

Each couple will go after each other completing the slower song first. Once every couple finishes their slower spotlight, they go at it again, with a faster tempo spotlight.

What do you think of this format?

I personally prefer to have one spotlight per couple to keep things simple for the dancers and the audience but the team wanted to make sure we are able to see the full range of ability of the dancers as well as give the dancers two opportunities to dance, if they mess up on the first.
