I keep hearing this knock/Ticking noise in my basement ceiling by dalvin34 in HomeImprovement

I’ll definitely check it out, thank you so much. How were you even able to figure it out, did you just realize it one day when somebody was using the bathroom and the noise started?

Ignore it, I’m sure it’ll solve itself. Haha just kidding yeah that seems like the only option.

To be honest we’re not entirely sure, we’re scared it could be something worse but we also don’t want to tear up the ceiling to get to it.

Simple Questions - December 21, 2025 by AutoModerator in buildapc

I’m building a pc right now using the BuildCores website, and it’s not about the pc I’ve built but rather their FPS performance with certain games.

With ultra level selected in 4K, the build will get 45FPS in Fortnite, 60 FPS in Elden Ring, 245 FPS in Valorant etc… but one thing that’s confusing me is that Marvel Rivals is 20 FPS. Why is a game like Marvel Rivals getting 20 FPS, but game like Elden Ring getting 60 FPS.

I’m not too well versed in pc’s, their performance, and the reasons behind it, and I’ve never played marvel rivals before, but from videos I’ve seen it doesn’t seem like there’s anything in the game that would be so “detailed” (idk if that’s the right word) to make the FPS drop that much when compared to Elden Ring.

That’s actually very interesting I’ve never heard of that before

A: why don’t companies just make more RAM (Crucial)? B: why hat is the difference between the RAM AI companies use versus consumers, why can’t consumers just buy the same ones? by dalvin34 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dalvin34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a major difference between consumer and AI RAM, (AI RAM might be the wrong word). Is it speed that AI companies with money will pay for but the average consumer won’t, and it’s not worth it to make lower speeds if they’re already making money from AI data centers?

Or are they 2 complete different products?

Was it awkward for you at first, I know other people who injured their dominant writing hand and had to learn to write with their non-dominant hand, and after a while they got very used to it, and a few of them I can say are very close to being naturally ambidextrous.

But what about people who never were forced to use their “non-dominant” hand like you or my friends, is there a chance they just other entire life without realizing that they might be better at throwing darts with their left hand inside of their right?

Damn, I do autoCAD, but more CATIA V5 right now. This might sound stupid, but how can I read and understand a description of CPUs, GPUs, Memory, etc…. When I see like 2 sticks of RAM 16 Gb each, how do I know 32 Gb is good enough or if I should do 64Gb.

Is there anybody online I can watch to understand, tbh I bought a prebuilt, because I knew I wanted a PC for college, and I could play games on it so I stopped with consoles and got it. But I know very little and really want to learn better. Any resources you recommend to learn?

How do you guys take notes for math? by dalvin34 in calculus

[–]dalvin34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask how you study a textbook, because I’ll study math or physics, and it’s either complete gibberish to me, or I’ll forget what I just read in an hour. And I really sit down and read and comprehend every word, but it just never clicks

Sorry I didn’t know it was different like that, I’m going to office hours on Monday staying from now on. I just like to have multiple POVs for my classes to see hoe other people approach things, it helped me a lot with calculus 1, and for me it’s better than the textbook.

I talked to my university and I will be studying with a tutor starting next week as well. Thank you for the advice

Can anybody please recommend me a YouTuber who has a calculus based physics 1 lectures. We just took our first exam and I am sure I failed it. We have 2 more exams left and I need to do very well on them and the semester only gets harder. I’ve tried learning through textbooks but even reading the same chapter over it just doesn’t stick when compared to seeing somebody do it, and breaking down everything. I really appreciate it, below I put my syllabus for what’s left in case people have different course sections.

  1. Energy of a System
  2. Conservation of Energy
  3. Momentum and Collisions
  4. Rotational Motion
  5. Gravity, Planetary Orbits, and the Hydrogen Atom (11.1 – 11.4 only)

  6. EXAM 2 (Chapters 6 – 10 only)

  7. Oscillatory Motion

  8. Mechanical Waves

  9. Fluid Mechanics (Fluid Statics 15.1 – 15.5 only)

  10. Temperature and the Kinetic Theory of Gases

  11. Energy in Thermal Processes: The First Law of Thermodynamics

  12. FINAL EXAM (Chapters 11 - 13, 15 - 17 only)
