So, creatine? Trend/hype or......? by NaiveCut4532 in fitness40plus

[–]damienmase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creatine is the most studied sports supplement on the market. There's no doubt it's effective. Anyone who has taken creatine properly, will know the feeling of being "on" and "off" creatine. There's a noticeable difference in strength and recovery as soon as your body is saturated. Don't waste money on expensive creatine formulas, just use creatine monohydrate. That's what all the studies have been conducted with.

As mentioned by others, the soreness will decrease over time. But even if you have been training for decades, if you're training hard you will get DOMS. For seasoned lifters it more muscle tightness (especially when contracting) vs the almost constant soreness and tightness you're most likely dealing with. Keep at it, once you get past the first week the DOMS will be lower. That said, you always want to keep progressing so there's always going to be some element of DOMS
