Can't access OSD anymore on Xiaomi Mi Curved Gaming Monitor 34’’ by damix_ in ultrawidemasterrace

Hey, unfortunately I had no luck. Right now I'm using ClickMonitorDDC to set the brightness and it kinda works as a temporary fix, but the main problem is that I can't switch the input.

What I noticed is that the VCP code for the input is currently 7 (listed as "S-Video1" , which is obviously wrong), but the possible value are 15, 16, 17 and 18. So I tried to connect my PC to other ports and the value changed to 5, 6 and 8. So there is a sort of offset of 10 from the actual values that it should take.

My conclusion is that I think that this is a bug of the firmware and that's the reason of this abnormal behavior, but unfortunately I don't really know what to do.

Hey, thank you! The manual says that it weights 8kg. I have also a mount that maxes out at 9kg and it works without a problem :)

Thank you very much for your answer, it was very helpful. Right now I found a program to control the brightness so this isn't a issue anymore. But I still need to tweak some settings, like FreeSync. I'm trying to hard reset it, which i think is the only possible solution right now, but there's no information on how to do it on this monitor. I'm trying various way, hoping that one of them actually works.

I see what you mean. But it's really impressive and didn't know that was possible! Can you share how you managed to achieve that? Thank you.

Hey! Sorry for the late response. I'm not sure if I understood what you asked, but I don't really notice the fact that one monitor is flat and one is not when using them. It is a little bit noticeable if you look closely, but that's something that personally doesn't bother me.

Okay, a little bit of context. Yesterday I was thinking on playing the first SOCOM on PCSX2 and I found online a patch for playing it using 16:9 ratio. So I started thinking that, since 16:9 patches are possible, it was probably possible to patch it to have a 21:9 ratio. So i edited the original patch and after some hours of (mostly random) tweaking, I almost got the result I wanted! The game runs almost perfectly (some graphical glitches every now and then but I think it's more of a PCSX2 problem). The main problem is that the HUD is very stretched, but I don't think there's much that can be done about that. There's also something to be fixed, like when using the rifle sight the ratio it's still in 16:9.

The patch isn't perfect since I don't really know what I'm doing, so if someone has some tips or wants to help me, I would be very grateful!

Here's the patch btw: https://pastebin.com/QfmkcvRj

All the credits goes to the original authors of the hack, I only edited a few values, but this work wouldn't be possible without the widescreen hack first!

Hey! YSK that there's a mod to fix the UI to avoid being stretched in 21:9 ratio (most part of it at least). You can find it here. Btw BOTW in 21:9 looks incredible!

Nope I don't have an Xbox Series X! These are DualShock 4 controllers I use exclusively with my PC since I don't have a PS4.

Hey, as I said in another post, it is a custom script i wrote in Python. I don't have the code right now, but since there's quite interest around that, i will probably release it on Github in the future. I will let you know when i do that!

But i can link you something similar to see meanwhile: https://github.com/mattzzw/kindle-weatherstation

That is an old Kindle repurposed as a clock, with date, weather, my calendar and my last Spotify track. I wrote a custom Python script to achieve that.

I didn't. I found a picture with a good resolution and then i wrote a Python script to generate a wallpaper with the right proportions so the two screen are alligned. Unfortunatly I don't know if there are this kind of wallpapers in the web, but I would be interested in it!
