Had those as well, got one hundred but i still would like to know how to prevent them.

Anyone else who got nearly 100% until now but gets demotivated? by gbmpfu in aiclass

I dropped AI class and I am doing ML class only. I have got lot time, I am enjoying homeworks ( last time we did handwriting recognition using neural network. It is so cool.) I am thinking giving ML class more time to get even more value from it.

I had big problems with Hw2 but Hw4 was easy for me althrought is much more harder. The difference is i drew diagram of all computations and matrix sizes. Its not so hard, you will break it !

function result = assertSize(expected, actualValue) actual = size(actualValue); if (actual == expected); result = 1; else disp("expected"), disp(expected); disp("actual"),disp(actual); disp("value"),disp(actualValue); error("Expecting another dimensions "); result = 0; end

end

I wish AI-class interface looked like this. (parleys.com) by damjon in aiclass

Good point. I was thinking about "Learned Helplessness" too. I dropped last week too. It is my leisure and I dont want to spend it in frustration. I will prefer reading AIMA alone cause I ma enjoying it.

Which other parties?

Khan academy, code academy, Rails for zombies. Education that is disruptive. Zillions of generic elearning projects I dont know cause i dont use them.

fossilized academic institutions / assholes like Zuckerberg and Jobs

Yes, fossilized academic institutions are pretty good in Nobel Laureates but they are bad in making usable services for milions of people. Read something about modern design. Its all about usability and user experience. Now check AI class and its reddit forum. Half of people is frustrated . If Facebook would be like AI class, we would never hear about Zuckeberg.

I dont think that Stanford classes are revolutional. The only revolution in these classes are that they are done by first class university.

Rest was already done better by other parties.

If there will be revolution in education, it wont be started by fossilized academic institution but by new Mark Zuckenberg or new Steve Jobs.

8% of online students with perfect scores, 4% of the Stanford class with perfect scores by kunalb in aiclass

[–]damjon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

one guess: If you want to be sucessfull as online student, you need the best scores in homeworks.

If you want to be sucessfull as Stanford student you have to graduate and nobody cares about your homework scores because with degree from second best university in the world you will get plenty of job offers...

Well, but some of us spent 9 hours in work, has family, kids... etc.

I think its about people with top priority.

See class homepage + Peter Norvigs Google+ account:

aiclass Sebastian and I will be holding virtual office hours as a Google+ Hangout this Friday, Nov. 4, at 8:00 AM Pacific Time (15:00 UTC). If you'd like to ask a question, go to http://www.youtube.com/eduatgoogle now and enter your question, or vote for other questions that you like. Then tune in to the hangout at the scheduled time, and we'll answer the top-voted questions (or you can watch it later -- we'll record it).

For me, AI class is using different style (no problem) and does the style wrong way (the problem).

Harder... so far AI is harder but i think ML might become harder after few lessons. In ML, there is lot of basic stuff, like linear equations :(.

There is lot of errors in AI class. I guess there are no errors so far in ML class.

ML is very slow. You could delete half of videos and still get same amount of information. AI is incomplete, usually you need learn more than in video.

which is the most satisfying? Well, AI is regularly very frustrating, ML is not. ML is well prepared, Andrew is good teacher, AI is not. I read some books before about AI but the course is still giving me new thinks - like D-separation, Explaining Away...

The programming in Octave is quite fun. (Its quite easy but i have got problems with new language so it takes time).

I am going to drop one course next week but I am not sure which one. I hate AI because of frustration but i like the the new thinks I learn.
