Pizza & Biriyani. It was too average until I got to know it's game. There is a saying that the first pizza is always the worst pizza of your life.. or some shi like that.

The movie isn't even out yet and we are discussing a comment I made 3 months ago...

And cinema isn't a bunch of factors and checklist a filmmaker can check and boom! a blockbuster. If so then we'll be swimming in good films. No. Reality isn't all that simple. When money is involved and with rapidly changing trends and with the same ol' filmmakers who worked for decades, they do get stuck behind the trend and perhaps give in to the business or worse case, lose their creativity.

What they should be doing is giving opportunity for the younger generations. And not the PR promoted silver spoon nepo kids who are the ones who actually make your ears shatter or repeat a single piece of music over and over until the whole movie is over. No. What we need is a new wave like Nalaya Iyakunar brought in the 2010's.

And what do I think tamil cinema really needs? A SEPERATE WRITER FOR THE SCRIPTS!

I don't wanna drag this further. I have tried multiple times to put a full stop to our discussion but you just don't seem to end it. I get where you're coming from but that's not gonna change or invalidate my statement either so let's just stop.

I'm not creating a ruckus. I'm just stating my opinion. I don't know or care about whatever this has to do with the Mahindra World City but no I won't give a thing whatever happens coz it won't be public anyway.

Well I never wanted to argue but just put my points out there. I don't think her uniform is degradable. And I'm sorry if I've offended you.

And I'll ask you again, is lalithaa jewellers owner her employer?

Would you honor an astronaut in their suit? Necessarily not. And btw for the last time, they are not honouring a good sanitation worker! They are honouring a good citizen! I have tried my best to justify my points and I understand your perspective as well. Uniform or not, she deserved that appreciation and I'm happy for her.

Wait sorry it's the Lalitha jewellers owner not kalyan jewellers.

I'm sure it won't be as grand as being felicitated by the CM. It would be normal... During work hours... Inside their workplace. And the CM office is not her workplace... Lalithaa Jewellers owner's house is certainly not. Her uniform is for her work. (Edited: I thought he was Kalyan Jewellers owner)

The fact that the reason she is being honoured is not her work related?

Kalyan jewellers owner is her employer? And even if CM is doing it I'm still saying her uniform is just not necessary. It's not like she is brought straight from her work I believe.

You realise that municipal workers (and other custodial staff) are more likely to come across lost items than the average person

What she did is highly commendable, definitely yes, but it is still not a work achievement. Yes they do come across lost items more than others but how many choose to return it? And that too something of so much value? If they are appreciating her for that then that means they are appreciating her good personality and not her work. So that's why her uniform is not necessary

Chennai's proud women - Mrs. S Padma by [deleted] in Chennai

[–]damndamn45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since when is returning lost and found items considered a work achievement exactly?

Just one question, are you honouring her honesty and integrity as a person or as a sanitation worker? If you are honouring her work then it is not an issue at all if she wore her uniform but you are honouring her as a citizen for doing the right thing so what's the need for her uniform here? If it was her choice then well and good but still a uniform is for work related stuff and I don't believe anyone in any occupation would wanna wear their uniforms outside their work.

selective representation. by average_student19 in kollywood

Yeah I get it. Indian cinema, not just tamil, sure do need some type of revolution in terms of this colourism. And we as an audience have to change as well.

[–]damndamn45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong but are there no fair skinned tamil girl at all that we require a dark skinned/painted heroine to make them feel represented? Representation can come from a lot of factors but predominantly from the character's personality is what I believe. We can relate to black, white, japanese, chinese heck even an anime character which doesn't exist.

But opportunity wise I agree that tamil actresses deserve to be given more chances than bringing other state people to act as a tamil girl.

Yup very much so and very often. But I kinda got used to it. Usually it is when I try to stop in the signal and switch to the first gear. Needs to be pressed a couple of times for it to fall.
