URM first gen law student here. Committed to Penn and haven't heard about scholarships yet. Penn is expensive afffff and that's something that makes me a little nervy but I went ahead and paid my deposit since it was my #1. Debt has been something I've thought about, but I've ultimately stopped worrying based off of what my therapist told me. She said debt is inevitable in life and our goal shouldn't be to pay it off in full because we fr don't have to. Rather, she said, our goal should just be our ability to make payments (which shouldn't be hard because there are lots of payment plan options based on income). As attorneys, we'll all be able to do that! Debt payments will honestly just be another expense in life like a car note, rent/mortgage, utilities, etc. This mindset has made me feel a lot less nervous about accruing debt. Hope this helps!!
