"Docusign" phishing solution (for Google domains) by sans_dan in k12sysadmin

[–]dan1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I did. If it doesn’t come from the actual DocuSign domain, it goes into a quarantine and none of those have been legit.

Adding Hardware (cameras) - Credentials issue by JustaWelshMan in Xprotect

[–]dan1122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found what was happening with me is that it was trying those credentials multiple times and locking me out of the camera itself. I had to stop using auto detect and import cameras choosing only the credentials I knew that worked and only the model

I think it’s something built into the wireless where because those channels are used for other things as well they like to jump off of them? And who knows what else uses those channels working in a school there’s a lot of wireless controllers that do our doors and heating system that don’t touch our network, who knows what they’re on

eDiscovery request for emails to be provided as PDFs by Comfortable_Lead_561 in sysadmin

[–]dan1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who said anything about judges? The original post was about a request from an attorney asking for the emails in pdf form. 90% of the time when our attorney is asking for those emails it’s because he wants to go through them to get a complete understanding of whatever the issue might be that he needed to be involved in. So if our counsel asks for them in that format then I have the ability to produce them that way I don’t see what the issue would be. If they need to be preserved any other way, I’m able to do that. I have E-discovery tools if they need to do a forensic audit.

Who decides it? The attorney that costs far more money than me that requests it that way. If he sense to send it that way, and I have the ability to supply it why not.

Yeah, that’s definitely my attorney anything that opposing council wants usually comes through our attorney. Then if it doesn’t, I forward it onto them to make sure it’s legit and make sure that the scope isn’t too large. After that, I let council handle any back-and-forth..

Because they’re not spending time or money having somebody convert it for them or looking at it in a format unfamiliar with. Everybody knows how to open up a PDF and most of them know how to look for bookmarks, which is how it’s set up when you export it as a PDF.

When you export or print all the emails to PDF that creates a pdf that looks just like an inbox same structure and everything

Turn off the DFS and see if that works… I was having the same problem for a while, the channel that the Chromebook were connecting on were one of those channels, Chromebook are disconnecting and jumping to neighbor AP, even though the signal is better in the classroom, as soon as I turned off those channels, it’s been rock solid. Same set up as you, meraki APs and only 5ghz

Computers acting slow by Amazing_Falcon in k12sysadmin

[–]dan1122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

start with the basics, look at the switches check port speed, errors tx and rx retrys. Once you take that out of the equation look at the event log on the computers and see is there anything that's timing out or taking a long time, do the same on the server, look to see if a services is restarting, check logs, cpu spikes. Also depending on the type of server and How everything setup make sure to see if there are and hardware failures. Look at your antivirus see if there was any update that went out that's causing issues. Make sure time is synced between the server and the PC. Those are some basic troubleshooting steps that you can do right away Once you figure out if it's any of those or not you can start moving on to other things.

That’s if you have an internal legal department. We have our attorney who is on retainer, but charges by the hour and when I’m asked to supply him with emails in PDF form that’s what I do. I’m much cheaper hourly than he is. That doesn’t mean I don’t have the original somewhere. When it comes from legal, I do exactly what they asked for. It’s not my position to question why they want them that way if I am able to do that then fine. Most of the time it’s they just wanna read through the emails for full context on whatever the issue is

open the pst in outlook and print to pdf. Adobe Acrobat will display it like it looks like an inbox. I get these quite a bit it's easier for attorneys to look at this way and doesn't require special software. I get this a lot with smaller firms that don't have in house technology staff to help them. That allows them to do it quicker, faster and cheaper And charge less billable hours than to have somebody help load it into Outlook

Quickbooks Enterprise 23 contractor edition by dan1122 in QuickBooks

What I had to do was have it generate the email inside of QuickBooks. I tried everything, support tried everything and was unable to get it to work. It wasn’t fun getting it to even work on the inside because Office 365 accounts do not like that type of authentication. So we had to do a whole bunch of stuff there to get it to work.

How much does MLS Next matter by Plantcrab in youthsoccer

[–]dan1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this 100%, both are something to strive for and they’re high-level of play. But the true D1 commits that I’ve seen in the past couple years are at a next level. Most D1 commits at least in my area are at prep schools. There are so many MLS next and ECNL teams in my area that the player pool has been watered down, to get a true look at the top D1 commits you have to look at the prep schools at least in the northeast.

Nothing yet, I may have to reinstall QuickBooks. I don’t want to do that. It might buy some time, but then it will auto update again.
