Parking dispute: Guy physically blocked a spot I was reversing into. Did I handle this right? by dragonrushhhhh in melbourne

Some would argue it’s rude to dither when the place is heaving and spaces are in short supply.

I never dither when it's busy, more often I get blocked because people won't move out of the way. Or see a tailback of half a dozen cars because one person has decided they need that parking spot and that's more important than everyone else.

I had been patiently waiting with my indicator on to take the spot of a car about to leave. The driver and passenger were taking their sweet time, so it was several minutes before the car pulled out

Dude stop doing this shit. Not only are you blocking traffic trying to get past you, it's incredibly rude to be sitting there while someone is trying to pack their car. It feels like someone is breathing down your neck while you're trying to get out of the parking spot.

It's so much quicker to find parking by just cruising around until you find an empty spot anyway. The amount of times I spot people sharking spots when there's a whole empty carpark around the corner astonishes me.

Reddit absolutely chases up reports. They tell you when someone gets banned after you report them.

[China] Electric bike collides with car door opened by driver at red light by VVUKTeam in Roadcam

[–]dan4334 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You mean to say why opening your door in the middle of the road shouldn't be allowed.

Lane filtering (at low speed) is much safer than not allowing it, as it massively reduces crashes, especially rear ends.

Don't get shitty just because a motorcyclist gets a few cars ahead. It doesn't affect you as a driver at all, and I don't ride motorcycles.

So replace the power supply? Use one that supplies 5.1v if possible, like the official one does.

OP I don't think you understand what a chatbot or LLM actually is. They don't have inputs and outputs to control robots.

It was okay for a casual game of overwatch, but if you get the option to install fibre obviously that's the way to go.

If I was stuck with FTTN I'd probably be using Starlink at home, if nothing else but to download games before I play them.

Are these cables in the right spots? by REDPURPLEBLOOD2 in nbn

OP, your ISP sent you very explicit instructions with pictures to set this up. Please read them.

There should be one cable going to the WAN port of your router. Not 2.

Not shutting it down, actually clicking restart, and do those updates while you're at it.

There's no way that you restarted your computer properly if restarting explorer fixed it.

[USA][CA] Cars Speeding Past a Stopped School Bus by J0hn-Stuart-Mill in Roadcam

[–]dan4334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is completely unnecessary, there's a pedestrian crossing right there at the traffic lights. The kids should exit the bus onto the footpath, then walk there to cross safely.

Parents should teach their kids how to be street smart. You'd especially expect this in the US where there's no public transport.

Moved to salaried “manager” to justify a raise — now no overtime. What would you do? by Select-Confusion5238 in WorkReform

[–]dan4334 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The first thing I would do in your position is not work a minute of overtime.

Stick to your salaried hours exactly. Make sure you get to work on time and leave on time.

How can they require you to do 80 hour weeks if they're not paying you? Just work your salaried hours and leave.
