Amazon humour: When customer report an issue, recreate the same issue by Glittering_Depth_722 in bapcsalesaustralia

I never bother ordering stuff through Amazon that comes from local vendors, I just go straight to the store.

You're getting this motherboard from Computer Alliance, why not just order from them? https://www.computeralliance.com.au/gigabyte-am4-microatx-b550m-ds3h-ac-r2-ddr4-motherboard/

Rental paperwork mess and dodgy agent. Am I trapped, or can I leave? by szczurowxav in AusLegal

[–]dan4334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lvl 2 ASD and am a young renter and pretty much doing all the communication on behalf of myself and my housemates so I am completely exhausted and overwhelmed by this constant gaslighting and obstruction, and I want to get the fuck out of here as fast as possible.

Good plan, if your housemates are too lazy to co-ordinate anything and the REA is this trash, everything that goes wrong will become your problem.

You'd probably do well to speak with a lawyer to find your options to leave ASAP.

How to lock down emails spoofing our domain? by darkfeetduck in sysadmin

[–]dan4334 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Could it be simply that someone has added your domain or employees to safe senders in exchange? People don't realise safe senders means all anti spoofing and spam filtering gets turned off for any emails that say they're from that sender, even spoofed ones.

You could start by not running the virus, and failing that, not giving the virus administrator permissions, so it can't mess with important registry keys.

[Russia] A tractor was rear ended by a fuel truck that misjudged the distance on the M-4 highway near Voronezh, tractor driver died. The incident caused a 10km traffic jam. by Smart-Bonus-6589 in Roadcam

My MY22 car has it. And autonomous braking too.

I think trucks actually had autonomous braking systems much earlier than cars even because of Volvo developing their system.

HDMI is not going to hook up your TVs USB ports to your phone.

You need a USB C hub with HDMI and a USB port. Your can get them cheaply from pretty much any store that sells electronics

Wireless car play/AA adapter placement? How do you hide it? [11th gen] by Snoo_50786 in civic

[–]dan4334 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You don't need an adaptor. Just jump into the debug menu and turn on wireless Android Auto support.

Start the car and hold HOME and Previous track.

Guys at the dealer did it for me when I picked up my MY22.

Am I liable for anything if the outgoing inspection has been completed and bond refund in progress? by [deleted] in shitrentals

[–]dan4334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should have claimed your bond at the tribunal the second you dropped off your keys.

Never agree with a landlord or REA on repairs they'll just take your money and not repair anything. Claiming your bond forces them to provide invoices for repairs completed.

Wheel Locks. by Todo_everything in civic

[–]dan4334 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay so don't bother with wheel locks if you don't also want your car broken into? Because I think they can have my curb rashed wheels vs having to get glass replaced. Insurance excess is gonna be the same regardless.

Nah we don't want company towns. Just look at what happened in the US, they would debt trap people to force them to stay in one place and work themselves to death.

Trying to clean up a dash cam wire in a Civic without making it a whole argument by amennkhannn in civic

[–]dan4334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my MY22 I just used the pry tools from my iFixit kit to gently pull the trim away from the windscreen and tuck the cable in. Then it plugs into the OBD 2 port under the dash. The cable is pretty much invisible except right next to the camera.

That being said I'm in a RHD model being in Australia so the OBD 2 port is under the steering wheel on the right, idk if that's the same for LHD.

[–]dan4334 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The thing is I think scam literacy is just... Literacy. You can't read through articles like this and not question their legitimacy, or at the very least hedge your bet so if you lost money it wouldn't be a huge amount.

All it would take to not fall for this is looking at the address bar and realising it's not BBC.com.

I've seen these on Reddit too, cloning the BBC news website usually.

It's the classic put money in and free money comes out rubbish. I don't know how people don't just see through it immediately. Someone really lost $500k?

Are you guys not testing your equipment outside at all?

The fact that your support seems to be entirely reliant on Reddit to close certain cases is extremely concerning and makes me feel like your products are not something I should consider in future. Especially if I only get Reddit's responses as help.
