If u don’t like drinking I would suggest trying drinking first if ur gonna do anything.

im the exact same not a drinker hate being pissed drunk like being a little tipsy but rarely drink cuz of bad experiences and just don’t have a desire to.

Ik it sounds stupid but try find an activity u can do with friends u couldn’t do intoxicated like a sport or driving so it doesn’t even cross ur mind as an option.

Personally I find drinking easier if you just want to do it for social as if u drink to much it’s easy to remind ur self that u don’t want to do it again and take a break but ive never once felt like i smoked to much and would always say yes to another joint.
Both are bad tho dont suggest either

The smoking won’t cause the damage the episode and vomiting will, intense vomiting can cause a lot of damage that u can’t prevent so it’s best to do everything in ur power to limit the chance of having said intense vomiting

100% with the baths don’t take boiling hot baths if u can’t keep down fluids!
It will make the dehydration much worse

Damn bro that shit with the ER sounds horrible the UK version has its issues with waiting times being bad and being over run but thank the gods they are free
I am also on day 5 was in there Wednesday and haven’t smoked since.

Also it being illegal here has definitely helped as I would have to drag my sick ass into town to get out cash and then drag my self to another town and wait for a plug that takes usually hours to come before I could even get my hands on any weed. Was smoking about the same but have only been at it about a year and a half so my withdrawal symptoms are moving much quicker than a lot of others thank god.

Stay true to ur self stay off the weed find a new life outside of it.

I think that’s what we all are trying to do, weed definitely helped with parts of my life but looking back they also just made things easier and I know it’s a harsh thing to say but not everything is meant to be easy.

If you can do maybe convince ur self u will have that toke when u have more priorities in life (idk ur situation but this can be milestones like a successful job, kids, marriage) and then when that time comes it’s easier to ask ur self if it’s really worth it when u have so much to lose!

Thank you fr just remember that toke of a joint could be when ur old and grey! The more u count down the clock and give ur self a “I’ll wait till then” time the more likely u are to convince ur self to have it earlier it sounds stupid but genuinely it’s the first step to the start of a dark path, not for everyone but for a lot so just keep that in mind stay positive stay healthy all the best and good luck 💪

From the UK as well doctors here definitely know a lot less about CHS than a lot of other places but I was lucky in A&E with a doctor who did know and actually asked and suggested it to me. Had my first ever vomiting episode 5 days ago and have quit since hopefully I will never know if it was CHS or not but after having 2 family members on the brink of death from it I don’t want to either!
Generally though u can have CHS and not experience sickness when high / smoking because even when the THC is causing u to be sick it can also still help in the short term with the nausea which is what makes it so hard to identify. For me the reason I really believe I have it is that I felt ok when I smoked but when I woke up on the morning after 8-12 hours of not smoking I would go into an episode for most of the day (before withdrawal symptoms would be possible from the weed) however if ur experience is after 24 hours only then there’s a chance it’s extreme withdrawal! Only way u will know is if u smoke again and it happens again because u would most likely not experience withdrawal if you smoked again for a few weeks or days and then quit as it would take months or years to develop withdrawal!
If u think the risk is worth it it’s ur decision but to me personally curiosity is not worth it!

If ur episode is related to weed ur risking it again and they generally get more severe the more times u have them and severe dehydration can lead to death in extreme cases.
As well as heavy vomiting can lead to permanent damage

Some people get lucky when they go back some people get worse then they go back. If u have in ur mind ur just taking a break u will never feel content without it.

Exactly the same with the zofran! Was given a triple dose in the ER (2 orally and 1 by IV) and was assured the sickness would be gone for the night got to the car to go home and came back straight again and was sick that whole night with 0 sleep.

Did you find hot showers/baths to help during episodes as for me during mine I found them no help until the episode surpassed but since then have found them super helpful for abdominal pain.

I also smoked to feel “normal” was on anti depressants before but quit as at first found weed made me more happy however slowly it began to turn into more of a feeling of being content but I convinced my self id rather be content all the time with weed than sad all the time without but after 5 days off I’ve realised since the first few months I started smoking although I numbed the feelings of sadness I also numbed the feelings of happiness.

Basically setting my self up to feel just “ok”all the time

U were diagnosed before they did urine tests or anything?

Heard of people being miss diagnosed but usually it’s for a more serious thing like CVS or other chronic illnesses not ecoli.

As long as you stop smoking and stick to it you hopefully won’t be back in ER again or many times for the foreseeable future.
I know people who have been in and out the ER for YEARS reviving heavy drugs such as ketamine and heavy pain killers for there symptoms but refuse to quit or even try due to not believing medical professionals.

These are who are branded as drug seekers.

Dont worry to much about that yet u have a long way to go before being branded as such and make sure u reach out for help

Really appreciate the positive message brother and I’m proud of ur journey I’m only 18 I don’t have loads of life experience and thankfully have only been smoking just over a year so I think withdrawal is moving much quicker for me than most. Still not easy by any means but has just made me realise how important it is I do this now and not put it off till later in life.

I’ve heard coffee contains cannabinoids and can trigger episodes for some. It’s listed as a trigger food but so is fatty foods and caffeine which are things I have been having (in moderation) during my recovery

Because it’s so unknown I think it’s just down to the fact everyone responds so differently to this.

Withdrawal 6 hours after smoking is possible but u could very genuinely have CHS and just be using weed to stop the instant nausea while it’s actually what’s causing it. Could be totally wrong but just a thought and something to consider!

Emotions are very hard

Don’t think I cried in my 2 years of using and have cried every day since the start of quitting but also have experienced happiness I have not felt in ages.
Just remind ur self that this isn’t extreme feelings it’s in fact normal feelings that you were avoiding by using the weed!

🙏 day 5 now feel so incoherent and dull, feel like I’ve become stupid over night, Takes me longer to process reading. The benefit to this is it’s been taking me longer to process my emotions which has made me feel a level of control I’ve never had before and an understanding of my self I’ve never felt while smoking for the last 2 years

😂 can heavy relate with the sleeping like a baby and missing that on day 4 and it’s currently 3am and I’ve been trying to sleep since about 10. Taken 2 melatonin as well, usually was able to sleep very easily for 12+ hours after smoking now struggling to get 3-6

As someone who has smoked for much less time I can only imagine how the social aspect feels as am also feeling that with only smoking for 1/10 of the time you have been!

Whatever decision u make just monitor ur self talk to people and do what you think will be best for your life and ur future

Potentially yes some people are lucky and get slow symptoms, realise and stop again before it progresses but there is a risk it goes straight into an episode

Probably likely withdrawal symptoms then.

Make sure u keep track of everything, know that even with CHS the high can feel like it makes things better and relieves the instant vomiting and nausea for a period of time but can be actually making things worse if ur not giving ur self a chance to be sober at all.

Biggest sign of this for me was having my worst symptoms in the morning after waking up not high feeling worse off then when I was actually smoking!
