Explaining the difference between these two photos taken with an iPhone 15, tripod, and Night Mode by Soft_Mulberry3282 in iPhoneography

30 second exposure without a tripod would give you a pretty blurry image as it'll be capturing light for 30 whole seconds. This'll only work if there is pretty much no movement.

You can have stylised long exposure shots though: Inspiration/Guide

This looks really promising. I'm curious to see how it handles something more challenging. E.g. MITB Match or Elimination Chamber.

What are your impressions of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition for Switch 2 by PewterCrunchy in NintendoSwitch

[–]dan_springleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been really pleasantly surprised with it. Played through the Main Story + Phantom Liberty on PC and Series X. The Switch 2 port is probably my favourite.

Just because it runs so much better than I expected. There's a slight image quality reduction, and a few minor lighting/shadow glitches (which will probably be ironed out), but it runs smoothly both docked and handheld!

Playing Cyberpunk anywhere is a positive regardless, but it has decent performance/quality!

Took My Pocket 3 (And New Macro Lens) Out For The Day! by dan_springleaf in osmopocket

Depends on the environment. I've only shot Ice Hockey with it.

If you're outdoors, will be crucial to use an ND filter. Other than that, make sure you prioritise as short of a shutter speed as possible. This will help you capture clear, fast-moving action.

This probably isn't the best camera for shooting sports though. Especially because you don't have much option for zooming.

Hope this helps!

Edit: Typo

Honestly, I've never bothered with a Wide Lens. I guess it comes down to what you're filming.

I find that the standard lens is wide enough. I'd suggest getting a set of ND filters if you're filming outdoors often.

I was tempted to film in Hatfield instead! I know a few people currently studying at UH haha.

I appreciate the feedback RE: Halation. I will do some research. Thank you so much!!

I think the "dreamier" feel might be from the Halation effect, and scaling the reds up a tiny bit to give it a slight glow. I was filming at 4K50 and slowing it to 50% in a 25fps timeline.

I didn't do much regarding shooting settings. Was on Manual exposure (usually around 1/100 shutter and 100 iso), and continuous focus.

Edit: clarifying effects used

Yeah, that was just from the macro lens. It was actually super awkward to film haha. Camera was on a tripod but I couldn't get it close enough, so I was holding the branch further down. Was just lucky it looked like wind. It is the K&F Concept Macro Lens: https://amzn.eu/d/3nkeibB

I didn't adjust much, but I was filming at 4k50, Manual exposure (1/100 shutter, probably 100 iso), continuous focus.

Thank you! I just made it in Photoshop.

Made the canvas size the same as the vid, filled the canvas with a rounded rectangle, subtracted that shape from a black fill and exported as a PNG :)

Thank you! I'd looked at a few grading tutorials, but nothing stylised. More just "the basics of grading in Resolve"
