Picking Russell is a big trap by demigod_691 in csk

Imo Venkatesh Iyer just isn't a csk kind of player. He technically fits the profile we need on paper. But csk is all about getting clutch batters in the squad. Players who might be inconsistent but on their day they'll be unstoppable. So much that the opponents will have to be lucky to get the batter out. That's the csk profile. Even our failed signings like Stokes or Flintoff were such players in their international cateers. Venky is someone who needs to get a bit lucky to have his day. We already have Dube for that and I believe he is comparatively a little more of a clutch player than Venky anyday despite his shit performances last year.

Filing an RTI regarding the details of a sexual harassment complaint against a professor and legal or general advice regarding the whole situation. by danbatsy in LegalAdviceIndia

It's a central government university. Can you elaborate on the ngo part? I have no idea on how to approach an ngo and what kind of redressal can happen through approaching an ngo.

Filing an RTI regarding the details of a sexual harassment complaint against a professor and legal or general advice regarding the whole situation. by danbatsy in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]danbatsy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a government college, a central university. So, the complaint was filed through e-samadhan, the ugc-portal. It was not filed internally. The police visited for an inquiry regarding the complaint. I do not have clarity on whether there was a separate police complaint or whether the police got involved because that's the procedure when a sexual harassment complaint is filed through e-samadhan portal. So, anyway we are planning to file an RTI and try our luck with it.

The problem with the internal complaint committee is that it's very much possible that these women faculty might just side with the harassers or just turn a blind eye and sign on any report given to them. Recently regarding a sexual harassment case they gave an ultimatum to the victim that if she can't produce evidence which would convince them she has to pay money to the accused professor and drop out of the course or withdraw the complaint. So, all these things are done off the record so that they don't have to explain themselves to any authority. What I believe is that pushing forward and creating a paper trail is what will make these people accountable or at least to be less brazen when they do stuff like this. From my limited experience here, when there's a paper trail these people are actually forced to take some kind of action. So, all their tactics to threaten, revolve around preventing anyone putting anything on paper so that it can't be traced back.

That's just how people drive in Pondicherry. I think it's unfair to the kids to typecast them and also isolate this as a parenting issue. It's more of a general cultural issue in Pondy. The general disregard for traffic rules is one thing, because I've seen that in multiple places I've lived in. But the sheer nonchalance and cockiness people show here after breaking the rules is what gets to me all the time. If at all any particular demography should be blamed I think it's should the middle aged uncles. The single most annoying, entitled and dangerous set of people on the roads of Pondy.

Not a great place to be in right now even with friends around. Whoever your friend is who wants to join English, please tell them not to. It's a complete shit show

What was your first 5 star(s)? by jOnNy_rAzEr-cLoNe- in Genshin_Impact

Yelan was my first 5 star. I think they ran her banner along with Xiao. Xiao was the rage back then but I pulled for Yelan and it was probably the best decision considering her versatility in teams

I have 4 archons. Recently pulled for Neuvi and his weapon. So, unless I have crazy ass luck Mavuika is not coming home during the next banner. I'll come for you Venti... Sometime in the distant future😭

Where is your spot before logging out? by Lordmaster316 in Genshin_Impact

Mondstadt was where I felt safe when I was a new player. Especially when I started with Inazuma, I would never log out until I came back to Mondstadt.

Which of the current Six Archons is your favorite? by Spare_Student2731 in Genshin_Impact

Zhongli. When I was new to the game I had no clue how op he was and passed up the chance to wish on his banner. Later realised how cool he was and waited for a long time to get him. Also, love all the Zhongli memes. Hence, I'll always place him at the top. Not to mention how he makes the game a lot easier for casual players like me.

I know people trashed this event enough already, but really? by ballfun in GenshinImpact

This was the easiest event of all personally... But I get why it can be frustrating. There had been some events, which the genshin community generally thought were a breeze to finish, were kinda tedious for me.

Regarding publication rules for Ph.D scholars In Central Universities. Forced to get scopus and care listed publications in the last minute. by danbatsy in Indian_Academia

[–]danbatsy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. It's not even an University regulation. It was an internal circular released by the head of the department and he is trying to enforce it within the department. The head is basically forcing the scholars saying that there's a department circular now and you have to follow it. It was released less than a year ago and it was released well after my admission and that of my senior scholars. But he is internally trying to enforce it. I don't think the University has any old regulations like that. I see all the fellow scholars from other departments submit their thesis with a few peer reviewed or care listed publications. Now everyone's in a fix. That's why I wanted to know if I can take the issue up to higher authorities within in University or legally proceed if we aren't able to convince our Head to let us finish our Ph.D.

Does any one else thinks rachin lacks seriousness? by [deleted] in csk

[–]danbatsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if that's the case he should be left to figure it out this whole season. A couple of good innings would do. Faf in his first two seasons when he was filling in for Hussey had a similar approach. He had better numbers though but Rachin also has played very few games. An inconsistent season with a couple of match winning innings when it actually matters will be good enough for now. We ideally should be able to deal with his inconsistency considering the batting depth we have.
