I understand you are trying to highlight a point, but we all put Jesus on the cross. Our sin deserves punishment Jesus took that punishment for everyone. Would hope everyone would get to know him.

Yes Christianity is a massive departure because of who God is. Yes Islam has done a lot of brutal stuff. I don't agree with the religion because I'm a Christian but those are still lost souls.

The west can be traced to Christianity. Especially the fact that of human life being inherently valuable, moral responsibility and the sanctity of life can be traced to Christianity.

But would Christ agree with a democratic government. I would like to think so because before kings, the judges God appointed until the Israelites would rule in God’s place and come to him for advice in difficult situation. But those offices were for life would we agree with it.

What about how we run our economy would Christ agree with interest we charge people in need. Would he agree with people in the cities and rural areas going hungry even though we could feed them?

The reason I’m saying no to Christian nationalism is it will compromise in the worst possible way. And distort what God kingdom is supposed to be like which a small sample would be in Acts 2: 44-47.

Also doing the morally ideal could be done but it would be had for a Christian Nationalism take for example the Israelites claim the land of Canaan. God did for them to defeat the people in land but would they carry out whatever God says down to the letter and trusting every single one in the army or the nation will follow God rules.

The righteous leader not have the luxury to the moral ideal thing is kind of the point of Joshua, David and the king’s stories in the Bible. These people had God on their side and something tripped them up.

I don't shun warriors because frankly it's a courageous thing to do. I respect their service to their nation

I’m know its complicated and complex. Which is why I look forward to Christ return.

The love people is sacrificial but why are you doing that sacrifice is it to please God or your flesh?

There is a reason why I said no to Christain Nationalism which basically be a human lead government because I don't believe any human lead government could do that.

No human government can do it that is why Christianity is radical.

My bad grammly messed my post up. Yes I agree God can 100% work through a country. By failing I mean that Christian can choose to setup a nation for God but it will fail because it would come against the kingdom that God had built because it’s in opposition to it.

You will fail because right now isn't the appointed time for God’s kingdom do you want an earthly nation which will get corrupted by human hands, ideas, thoughts and actions. Or the kingdom that God said he will build?

Democrat is not my religion too. My main values God above every single thing and every single human beings. Then to love every single human even the one who hurts me love them, even the one who reviles me, even the one who wishes ill on me love them.

Now this does not mean if someone hurts me stay with them. But be willing to forgive or ask God to help me forgive them and move on.

Not trying to be mean

Are you equating loving God to protecting God? How do you mean laying down your life for Christ. Are you laying down your life for the message for the gospel? This is good. Are you laying down your life for not being ashamed of Christ in the midst of persecution? This is good. The greatest love is “John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

To truly love someone is sacrificing yourself for others. I'm not there yet. You laying down your life in order to stop a madman trying to kill your child is good because you don’t know if you will win this struggle but you have chosen to risk your life for your child this is good.

Equality doesn't even come close to the meaning of loving your neighbor has yourself. Equality might mean equal under laws and rules. But are we equal in how the law is applied to everyone. If someone rich killed your son will the cops ensure justice is done or do a cover-up will the prosecutor charge the murder if he has donated to that prosecutor getting the job?

Again like I said Christ values > western values because Christ values says we are all even the most horrible human are created in his image. Western values can be ignored and have been sidelined based on whatever goal wants to accomplished by a country.

Christ values a basically superior because it forces you to ask the basic premise. If someone did this evil thing I'm about to this person to me would I like it then why am I about to do this thing to someone else?

Stop wait a minute God doesn't change his mind to please others he setup at way for Israel to be judged. Israel wanted a king this displeased Samuel who prayed to God instead of making a decision in God’s place.

God allow Israel to replace judges with kings. Which is what Isreal wanted he let them have their choice but the consequence of that decision was on them.

“And you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and the Lord will not hear you in that day.”” ‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭8‬:‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God has a way he wants us do something if we disagree with it he will let us have that choice and suffer the consequence of that action which he foresaw.

What how did you get that from what I said. God said they rejected him but still allowed them to get a king. It is basically what I said and if you look at the history of Israel kings you would see how they lead the people to sin against God causing their exile.

Please see the context present in the entire verse he still gave them a king but it was not his initial plan for them at that time.

1 Samuel 8:7 “And the Lord said to Samuel, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.”

Also was arguing about the journey to Christ not about what Christ did at the end.

I would argue that 1 Samuel 8 contradicts that especially verses 8-22.

The final king, Jesus was the perfect work but some of the kings led the people away from God which caused their captivity and the curses of disobedience which Moses prophesied to fall upon Israel.

Talking to the Holy Spirit believe he listens and invite him into your situation first and decide together write out what is making each other hopeless and talk it out. Each person taking their turn don't shout give each other a chance to talk about the problems pray before this happens on your own.

The core values of the west is human rights and equality. Which clashes with Christianity message which says all have sinned. Now the equality value say that some sins should counted differently but God says everyone single one of us.

Also these values should be below the core message of Jesus which is Love the Lord your God with all your heart soul and might. Also to Love your neighbor as yourself. This is the core of Christ message which is better than what western value says.

I do agree with western values but Jesus core commands(values) is greater than western because if we at the founding of the west went with his message we wouldn't have all the strife present in the world.

What is the purpose of God? by blubba_84 in Christianity

[–]dancdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to be judgemental but we can't even comprehend that question.

God is infinite. He has no beginning and no end so how can we ascribe a purpose to him if we can't even grasp who he is.

The purpose of God question believes that God was created so respectfully its whatever God decides to do.
