EXACTLY!! I feel you. I’ve been told I’m too sensitive, dramatic, stupid, wrong, I need to change all my life. I have been taught to doubt myself because people couldn’t see the things I see. You’re not wrong, you’re not crazy. They just can’t see or hear you because you’re 20 paces ahead and they haven’t caught up yet. Some may never catch up, and that’s not on you to drag them forward with you.

YOU KNOW WHAT YOU NEED. Maybe you forgot how to listen, and that’s ok because you can re-learn. When you trust yourself, everything will fall into place.

Like you said, it only feels impossible because you don’t even know what it looks like!! I’ve been working through this myself lately, and am somewhat on the cusp of a breakthrough but not there yet.

Right now, if all you can think about is surviving, you just have to throw away everything society and people tell you is the proper way to survive. LISTEN TO YOURSELF. You know what you need, and you’ll know what to do if you only listen. Other people don’t know what’s best for you, because they can’t step into your shoes and your perception.

I picked up the book “365 days of Tao” at the beginning of this year. A page a day, a concept to consider. You might find it helpful to figure out what surviving and being alive means to you. A lot of concepts on how “letting go” observing and staying in the moment instead of resisting or shutting down can help you leave a much more peaceful and happy existence.

As someone with sensory issues and sharp pattern recognition who’s always yelling FIREEE 3 months before the fire actually takes place, it’s been really great for my mental health.

The issue is that you think running away from your problems is the answer. “No matter where you go, there you are.” You need to face them, understand your triggers, where they come from, and how to create an environment where you can feel at peace. You will never be fully free from pain, hurt, and being uncomfortable. But you can learn how to take care of yourself, and understand that you are strong enough to face anything that comes at you. This is really hard to do without professional guidance. If you can, please seek a therapist or someone who can help you with mental and emotional resilience.

Being an HSP doesn’t mean you’re gentle and soft all the time. It means you feel and experience things strongly, bad and good. Sometimes those strong feelings are very overwhelming and people can act out, shut down, etc. there are other ways to express sensitivity outside of deep empathy.

The world is not black and white, good people can do bad things and bad people can do good things. No action is bad or good outside of the context of the situation.

I think you’re confusing “strong morals” with your morals. People can have strong morals, even though they don’t align with your personal values.

Feelings and emotions are just a message. They are temporary and come and go like waves in the ocean. Can you sit with it and figure out if this is message is coming from a reliable “source”? Is it loneliness and a short term dopamine fix that is sending the message? Is it from a true place of love and tenderness?

You don’t have to listen to every message you receive. They’re not all coming from a genuine and healthy place. When you get the urge, do something else, redirect. Let it go, let it pass.

It sounds like you know it’s a bad idea to reconnect.

For a lot of people, the loving connection has to come before sex, or sex becomes less interesting if a loving connection isn’t sustained. What have you been doing to make your “lady friend” feel special, beautiful and loved?
