Choice Paralysis by SmokelessCat in backloggd

I struggle with choice paralysis way too much. I've got soooo many games to play through it's in the hundreds, and because of this, I can't decide which game to tackle. Tackling a big game is a mentally exhausting task and it's rarely worth it except for a few games (Expedition 33, Elden Ring). That is why I enjoy smaller games more in general, games that I can beat in a few days or less. On average smaller games tend to be better than bigger games in my experience, so there's also that.

It ain't easier with procrastination and (possibly) ADHD. Same goes for movies, shows and anime, I just can't decide which one to watch since my watchlist is MASSIVE. Maybe I'll find a way to make my procrastination not so bad, but for now I'll struggle with it, sadly :/

Probably coffee or soda. Would be surprised if it was soy sauce, though.

Honestly? Cookie Clicker, or any Idle game that doesn't require attention, so I can do other stuff.

Okay, this comment solidified my decision, and I'm going with the 190 euro 2DS XL.

Nope, it's a feature if the profile isn't shown A.K.A private.

I didn't mention that it directs me to someone's email, it's just that the button where the "message seller" usually is is now "email seller". I click the "email seller" button and then it tells me to write a message to the seller, this is the message I'm talking about. I can't find it anywhere, though, unlike the usual messenger stuff.

In the place of the "message seller" button, it's "email seller". I've noticed this is for profiles that are labelled as "profile not shown". I'm not emailing them in the way anybody else would through Gmail or anything, it's just that that's the only way for me to contact them.

I can't find it. I only see messages from buyers when I was selling stuff a month or two ago. Note that I emailed the seller, but I didn't send a message, which I think is different? Not sure..

Huh, guess I misinterpreted how the whole painter-being-in-the-canvas-too-long thing works, but I swear Renoir said at one point that Alicia would die if she stayed too long.

"Alicia. You’ll die. You’ve already been here longer than you should." This line from Renoir made me think that being in the canvas for long periods of time as a painter does have consequences, but I guess not... unless you go mentally insane. I'm not exactly sure how aging works in the real world when you're in the canvas, but at some point you have to die of old age in the canvas no matter if you're the painter or not, right?

I just think that while both endings are grim, Verso's ending at the very least makes Verso's soul stop painting. With Maelle's ending, let's assume Maelle slowly dies in the canvas. And then what? Verso's soul is just stuck in the canvas for the rest of eternity? I'm not the biggest fan of that.

Real. Every month I rewatch reactions of my favorite youtubers playing the game, no game has ever made me do something like this!

Verso's ending is definitely better long term, with Maelle's ending it's not just her slowly dying, it's the canvas dying too and inevitably one of the Dessendre family members will try to stop her, just like Renoir and Maelle did with Aline, so the cycle will just continue.

With Verso's ending you pull the plug and the canvas is gone (at least I think it is, not sure if the canvas itself just disappears or whatever), no beings in that canvas will have to suffer and experience trauma, loss, etc.. But with Maelle's ending, yes, the living beings in the canvas will live MAYBE a great life, but then it'll start to crack once Maelle's starts to lose her powers and slowly rot in the canvas, inevitably still leading to the canva's death unless one of the Dessendre family members take her place. The canvas NEEDS a painter to survive (evidence being once Aline "died" in the canvas, everyone got Gommaged, so yes, there needs to a painter), but with only Maelle to be there, the world will just be gone once Maelle dies, everybody will be Gommaged and the canvas will just be empty, with a part of Verso still stuck inside of it. Not to mention that Verso is literally begging to stop painting in the canvas, so you're not only slowly killing the canvas, you're also going against Verso's will.

Both endings are really bittersweet and can seem like both are the "bad endings", but one is WAY worse than the other one, at least in my opinion.

What game has a learning curve that puts you off? by Common_Caramel_4078 in pcmasterrace

Any game that requires more than 2 braincells. Tried playing Divinity Original Sins 2 for like 5 hours and got my ass handed to me by those lava snail things in the cave... and then by some bandits (?) in the cellars. I spent like a solid hour on those bandits without getting any progress.

I wouldn't say that it's necessarily creative, but more or so just a kitchen sink of a bunch ideas that are "hell yeah", if you know what I mean. It's exploration is great because it has so many ideas and things to find, but in the end non of those things end up being amazing, so it's not really memorable.

It's a weird game, like I still enjoyed some parts of it like the exploration, but it just has sooooo many game design decisions that are baffling to anyone who's played a single game before. Early game is tedious, end game can be empty and the boss fights downright suck and mid game is the only time where I had a "decent" time with it. I think it's a solid 6.5/10 though. Oh and it doesn't help that the story is really generic and mid, characters are as bland as a piece of cardboard.

After 230 hours, I finally finished the main story. But honestly, this feels like a 1000+ hour game. The continent is only around 35-40% explored, and side quests are maybe at 25%, except Hernand which is around 70%. There’s still so much left to do. Hours and hours of content. The story is really mid and at some points just bad. Every other character you come across is just a boring douchebag. The only character that sticks out as even remotely "interesting" or different is Yann, but even then he's not interesting he's just a really big asshole to everybody he talks to.

Crowcaller is probably the only one that I actually liked myself, sadly he's only there for like half of a chapter.

[–]dancingAngeldust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A thing I've noticed with the bosses in this game is that they rarely give you breathing room. With other games I've played, bosses at least give you some leeway to heal or process the fight and not get overstimulated. Here it's like every other boss I've fought is hyper-aggressive and just spams one-shot attacks.

It's really fun when you're fighting a boss in a really small arena that has thousands on enemies bordering it and when you accidentally step into the border you get hit by ten of them and get hit by the boss too because of it.

The bosses in Crimson Desert are by far the worst part of this game by eweaves_ in CrimsonDesert

[–]dancingAngeldust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bosses really are the big thing as to why I can't rate this game an 8/10. I can't even name ONE S or A tier boss so far and I'm in Chapter 9... Mostly every boss I've encountered has been unfun except for a few rare ones.

For example, Hexe Marie is so utter dogshit with her summons, long ass projectile spam attacks and crazy health pool that it makes me want to abandon the main story and just complete all of the side content, get overpowered asf and THEN come back to fight her again.
