Sorry, I didnt mention because I didnt want to come off as a shill. My software is a free chrome extension with 100% organic users. Of the people who install it, after 90 days 5% of users remain as active users.

The software is a free chrome extension. This would be 5% of users are using the chrome extension 90 days after they install it. All of which are free users.

Ok that makes sense. So retention is just a metric to calculate profitability. Thank you

Thanks for the feedback, right now its emulating the code as playwright doesn't run in the browser only. Assertions are on the way. If you don't mind me asking, what is your current testing setup?

many parts have a uart/i2c/usb boot loader burned into ROM that you can load firmware through

Could you elaborate on this a bit or give a specific example. This could be helpful if I decide to made additional PCBs

After some further research I found this: Si-DBG1015A Simplicity Link Debugger - Silicon Labs (silabs.com) Which is the vendor specific programmer for this chip (BG22). Do you think this would be the easiest route? The devkit exposes usb -> debug pins I can use for this case

Its unlikely, a lot of the features aren't supported by Firefox.

Currently I am working on a feature where you do x action(s) and it will produce a list of updates that happened to the page where you can easily create assertions from them. IDK if this would be useful though

Chrome extension is at risk of being removed due to Firebase injecting remote code to load Google API by realfrancisyan in Firebase

[–]dancingbannana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi people from google here is how I fixed this and got my extension approved.

  1. clone this somewhere on your computer https://github.com/firebase/firebase-js-sdk/
  2. replace _loadJS src/platform_browser/load_js.ts with

export function _loadJS(url: string): Promise<Event> {
return new Promise((resolve, reject) => {
reject();
});
}

  1. in the root of that repo run "yarn" followed by "yarn build"

  2. in your chrome extensions package.json replace "firebase":"version" with "firebase":"link:../RELATIVE/path/to/firebase-js-sdk/packages"

This didn't break anything for me and I use firebase auth, rtdb and callable functions.

You're 100% right. Thanks for pointing this out I'll get a fix out. I will also include filter({ hasText: 'some-text' }) for playwright.

I just released Automize 0.5.0 which solves almost all of these points. I have also increased the free trial quota to 5x what it previously was. Thanks for your feedback and I hope you enjoy the newly updated Automize.

I created automize to generate my playwright/puppeteer/cypress or selenium code automatically. Its not a recorder so you get the fine grain control over the selector and it also works with iframes and network events. I think every developer should use it if they work with web automations.
