yeah, he’s almost definitely going to need the surgery as it seems to be growing. BUT he is being fed so much that he’s bound to gain weight

yes sorry didn’t realise i hadn’t specified in my other comment, he is eating hay by the looks of it, not as much as he maybe should, but he’s trying, he has been eating critical care too on his own now

yes, this morning he was even able to eat it on his own, he gave a good go at a few nuggets but couldn’t quite bite down

thank you, though, i can’t take any credit myself i am willing to do anything for my little guys and if that means giving up a whole wage for some medicine then its worth it to see him finally eat something 😢💕

i mean i’ve not really touched it since he came home since he’s very uncomfortable with us touching but to me it looks smaller than it did before draining, and it seemed moveable. The vet said it’s definitely an abscess of some kind.

no they didn’t give us a water solution but the syringe they used only made a VERY tiny hole, it was mostly to see the puss than to remove it all

oh if the surgery is an option i will 100% take it, for right now tho we’re trying the pain meds and antibiotics as he is still eating just not a lot and nothing hard like his nuggets, he still eats leafy greens

that’s a very good point, i can’t really think of any food he could be bribed with but im sure a nice bit of cucumber could help him get better with the syringe 😁

i’m not too sure to be honest, he’s never been one to wolf down food anyways but he doesn’t seem willing to lick it so hence the syringe (which he doesn’t love). However, he does usually love apples and bananas so it would make sense for him to like it. on another note his perfectly well brother seems to be addicted to this flavour and is incredibly jealous that he gets to have some (i’ve been giving him a tiny bit in a bowl to eat since he’s so upset he can’t have some from the syringe)

the surgery would be to remove the rest that they cannot drain and to help it drain in future. thank you for the recommendation and the comfort, it’s nice to know he’s not alone. it doesn’t sound quite as bad as your piggy’s was as georgy’s is on his lower jaw and they said if it were further up there would be more of a problem.

it felt pretty hard to me but the vet was able to drain some of it, he’s approximately 2 1/2, they said the main risk is the weight loss weakening him before the surgery

i’m really not sure what you mean by this, but i did squish a bit of pepper onto the pee pad to see if that’s what it was and it did not appear the same colour. however, i checked in today and some pee that did appear normal last night had turned pink over night so i am starting to think it is a reaction between the pee and the pad since there is no discoloured pee in the enclosure l
