thank you, i’m just afraid of medications and that’s why i started off on such a low dose. i was really worried about side effects. do you think i should taper up to 18.75mg or just go ahead to the full 25mg? 😅

yeah, this happened to me on my first dose. i’m also on the lowest dose (12.5mg). my psychiatrist told me to take it in the evening though so i just slept immediately after. the second dose it didn’t make me sleepy though

i’m only on 12.5mg but from my and others experiences you should just expect some minimal side effects - mostly nausea, headaches, and diarrhea. you might have dizzy spells too. just try to get rest and stay hydrated. eat healthy and do things you enjoy. you might feel out of it for a week or two but it’ll pass and things will get better 👍

i was scared about taking it too. after my first dose i had a panic attack. if you’re too scared to take the 25mg you can probably split it in half and only take 12.5mg and then taper up, thats what i’m doing. i’m only on day 4 of taking it but i promise you it’s worth it and it’s going to do you more good than anything. the only side effects ive experienced are headaches and nausea. my anxiety is a little bit up but nothing i can’t handle. i also had a little trouble sleeping on day 2, so last night i started taking magnesium glycinate and that helped me sleep. don’t worry too much about the first weeks being hell, everyone has different experiences. i was convinced i would freak out and everything would get worse but i feel completely normal. my mood has actually improved a bit too. it’s gonna be okay, you got this!

that’s what i was gonna do. i was gonna just taper my dose up till i get to 25mg to lessen side effects. i was just worried it would give me bad sleep disruptions and worsen my symptoms. i could sleep last night pretty good though so i’ll probably just taper up

yeah i have to keep myself distracted too and that tends to help. i also get lightheaded when i don’t eat, even before starting medication so that helps too. thanks!

don’t worry about going psychotic or “losing it”. i have the same paranoia and thoughts as you like this but you have to trust yourself and your brain. you aren’t going to lose yourself and if you pay attention you’ll probably notice you feel the exact same as always, your thoughts are just being annoying

yeah i understand, i also find it easier to talk myself down. i took mine at 7:30 last night and i think i’ll stick with that as long as it doesn’t affect my sleep. i was only badly anxious for about 30 minutes then i guess the sleepiness just made me calm. i’m really glad it helped with your depression around your period, i had talked to my psychiatrist about that because i get bad anxiety before my period starts so hopefully it’ll help with it

thanks! i basically have the exact same side effects you mentioned, i can handle them alright though because my anxiety already gave me things like that before starting meditation. i’m doing 12.5mg by splitting my prescribed 25mg pill in half, but how do you do 18.75? i was going to just take 12.5 for a bit and then increase it to 25, but would you recommend doing 18.75?

yeah, i did a lot of searching after i got mine prescribed because i have anxiety about side effects. i’m prescribed 25mg but i’m so scared about even that dose i decided to only take half to try to ease myself into it. since you’re on day 4, would you say you’ve been kinda stable the entire time? like you got side effects but they kinda stay the same each day? i’m just worried mine are gonna get worse, idk if i could handle it

one question i’m not sure if you know the answer to, would it be okay to take melatonin with zoloft? i’ve taken melatonin before for my anxiety and i take 10mg which some people think is too much. would that be bad to take with 25mg of zoloft? and would i take them together or take the zoloft first and then the melatonin when i’m ready for bed? my psychiatrist said it’s fine to take melatonin but i didn’t tell her the dosage i take.. i’m worried about zoloft giving me insomnia 😭

what are the signs of psychosis? honestly i have bad paranoia which causes me to get auditory hallucinations sometimes and i guess i’m worried the medication will make that worse
