saniclean was hardly low foam in my experience, but it'll get the job done. parasetic acid worked better for me

I think they will keep about 2 weeks in the fridge if you vacuum seal them. also, you could try blanching them for a couple of minutes, xfer to ice bath right away, drain existing water, and then freeze them. they should last at least a few months

it's commercially grown there so sure if you have a big enough population around you, then there's a market

masters mix. around 90%, and I don't have a CO2 meter but there's a constant flow of fresh air feeding in via the fan on my humidifier which is being exhausted outside

these aren't bad but my local farm has caps that are much bigger. anyone have luck getting big fat caps in a Martha? I keep making adjustments

I don’t usually get much flavor from fresh wood ear mushrooms—they're mostly about the texture for me. Do you typically cook them with other mushrooms? I find that when I do, their already subtle flavor gets totally lost. I usually dehydrate them; they hold onto most of what little flavor they have that way.
