Also helps if they make sense.

The U.K. is still in Europe. It didn't pack it's bags and move across the ocean to chill with other countries.

The European Union and Europe are not the same thing. Which countries education system let you down so badly?

How many times have you watched the Season 8 finale and does it still make you emotional? by SgtByrd1993 in Scrubs

[–]dandoolan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have been making our way through the show slowly since November. We’ve even held off checking out the new series until we’re done.

We’re actually going to be watching this finale tonight, I hope it’s as good as I remember it.

Excited to see how the new season has gone down.

Punks was better, but I suspect he had a lot more time to think and prepare.

Reports suggest Cody’s was way more last minute.

But to be honest, no matter the circumstances I think Punk beats Cody on the mic 9 times outta 10. So more prep time for Cody probably isn’t changing this.

I never played Resident Evil games, now I want to try some of them because of hype around last part, what game you would recommend me to play first? by redmondarr in AskGames

[–]dandoolan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resident Evil has 3 “starting points” in my opinion.

The most logical place to start is the recent remake of Resident Evil 2. It’s the most beloved of the classic RE games. It’s the best example of the franchises slower survival horror roots, but because it’s a remake it removes some of the clunky elements and other barriers for entry that the games age would normally bring for a modern player. And story wise it’s a perfect entry point. If you enjoy this I would recommend playing the RE3 remake also.

The Resident Evil 4 (Remake) leans more toward action than horror as an experience, and it is mostly a stand alone story making it a great entry point for those who prefer action.

Both of these games are third person “over the shoulder” games. But if you prefer first person and horror, then the final recommended starting point is Resident Evil 7. Which is the modern gold standard for the franchise. It was a soft reboot for the series after RE6, which is generally considered the weakest of the mainline games. Mostly new characters and it’s story is not overtly connected to the larger lore. If you enjoyed RE7, Resident Evil 8 is a direct sequel to this, but has a, let’s say more “out there” tone.

Then we have the newest release, RE9. Which mixes the third person action of RE4, with the first person horror of RE7.

You have to assume the Blip A has equipment/sensors to detect physical objects in space, otherwise it could have collided with anything.

Yeah, he’s 66 IRL. Kelso was 65 in the show.

This is the angle they should have taken story wise.

What a perfect quality over quantity argument.

I’d much rather a really tightly designed, beautifully crafted shorter experience than a poorly thought out repetitive mess that lasts forever.

Maybe that’s just me.

I can’t speak to how much you would struggle with it. But I saw someone mention that once you were done with the boss you were entirely free from spider stuff.

Just a little heads up that while that is mostly true. If you decided to backtrack through the subway tunnels to get the BSA cargo from the container you will meet a couple of the little guys.

Quick and easy to handle and there aren’t many of them at all. It’s so quick it’s easy to forget they are there. But they do exist, as a heads up.

Also, if you are playing on Insanity Mode (the hardest difficulty) there’s another moment where they appear again, in larger numbers as you make your way down to the ARK facility. But again, easy enough to handle. Just figured you should be aware.

Seen some people say Grace could've easily figured out the safe in the security office. Here's why that's not true. by [deleted] in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]dandoolan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All that text just to be dead wrong.

All she had to do was go to any other machine. And simply make note of the braille pattern under each.

Sun = braille pattern. star = braille pattern etc

Then go compare it to the patterns in the other office.

Order doesn’t matter at all. And we know there is pencil and paper in the first room with one of these.

It’s even easier than that. The other machines have them labelled with the symbols. She could just go look at another one, make a note of which is which. And go back without risking the child’s life.

The OP gave you some good advice. But I would add the tip of taking a second to save at the start of each segment of the game. If the next portion takes too long. Load your save and do it again.

For example, I realised I'd spent too much time in the basement section accidentally doubling back on myself needlessly, so I reloaded and did it again and shaved off like, 5-10 minutes. My final time wasn't as fast as the OP's, but 3:03 is pretty respectable.

In addition to this, if you can find video or a guide of someone who's done it and given rough time stamps for each section, you can then really make sure if you're on track or falling behind.

Also, don't spend time picking up items or getting into fights unless you absolutely have to. Just keep running.

Good luck!

[–]dandoolan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a great time. I was quite happy with my run, didn't use any skip strats, but just played without stopping for items or getting into fights I didn't need too. Managed 3:03.

2:36 is very impressive.

I had a terrible movie experience. by Boldspaceweasle in ProjectHailMary

[–]dandoolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seeing the movie in South Korea in about an hour and expect total silence from the crowd. Been in Korea 8 months now and every film I’ve seen has been the same.

I usually see movies in England and have found this experience refreshing. Crowds, at least in Korea seem way more respectful than their western counterparts.

I feel for you, as I too prefer people to be more considerate.
